Que...Barbara Steisand...take one...MemoriesLight the corners
of my mindMisty watercolor memoriesOf the way we wereWell Jordan, it is the game of your life but be prepared for things you've not
seen or felt. I hope for your sake that you avoid some serious
injury. You might take some extra Motrin before the game and add a few extra
rolls of tape to various parts or your body. TCU is wanting you bad.Good luck because that's what you'll need. I'm predicting 2
interceptions, 3 sacks and 2 fumbles, a total of 4 turnovers by the Utes.
sammyg,Here's my prediction:The 2010 national champ WILL
BE the university of Utah. The recruiting battle is already set up to
be dominated by Utah(see mutliple bcs win, real conference, coach that knows
football is #1 vs. perennial preseason national champs, coach that thinks
football is not #1, team that knows how to get blown out in big games time after
time). The choice for future recruits will even more clear after this
year's #1 FINAL ranking. byu should be scarred. Very scarred.Seriously, how will a recruit ever want to pick byu anymore? The
best(Utah) will be getting even better and the slow and unathletic(see little
brother) will be getting even slower and more unathletic(if thats possible).Like Wynn, future recruits know the future is RED.Get er
NC Utes 2010--- I've seen some of your other posts and admired your confidence
and brash pick (I've been saying the last couple weeks that utah will beat
TCU..even though I think tcu is a better team overall and would do better
against most top teams because of their defense) but on this one I was quite
taken aback. I dont think Ute fans realize that byu doesnt really compete with
anybody for recruits (in most cases). Most kids at byu always wanted to go there
because of the culture and tradition. Byu will for sure lose some recruits
because of utah's move to Pac-12 and their bcs bowls but look how byu did since
2004 even with 2 bcs bowls for utah. Kids who want to go to byu will go there
whether they are athletes or not and usually its because they realize that
football is NOT the most important thing in life and, maybe more importantly,
their parents do, too. Utah will probably be taking more recruits from
California and other Pac10 schools than byu in the near future..
dhsalum,I appreciate the talking points from your BYU handbook, but your
position is not very well supported. Explain the number of byu athletes,
prinicipally qbs, who dont serve missions because football is the most important
thing to them in their lives.A lot of out-of-state mormon athletes
have chosen Utah over BYU because they realize they have a better shot at the
NFL and are still surrounded by a mormon community on and off campus. BYUs recruiting tactic of painting the Utes as an apostate school is blowing
up on them as there are now many well known NFL athletes who are U oF U grads
AND faithful mormons (many having served missions!)
Jordan Wynn is impressive, on and off the field. I hope the Utes win out the
rest of the schedule. I would love to see a Boise vs. Utah BCS Bowl. Here's
hoping! Go Boise, go Utes!
I'd rather see Utah beat up on a BCS school, and Boise do the same thing this
year. Although, I would love Boise and Utah to play, especially this year's
Utah recruiting has DEFINITELY been propelled since the 2004 BCS busting
campaign. Look at the depth this current team has....unlike any other. Every
position has a guy behind him just as good. Also, look at the "rebuilding"
years. Last year was supposed to be that and we were 10-3 or something like
that. The Utes now reload, not rebuild. In contrast, look at the
rebuilding BYU is doing. That is the difference in recruiting over the last 6
years. Also, with BYU.....fans should be concerned that Bronco can't
recruit. All of the studs he has coached (Hall, Unga, Pitta, Jorgensen) signed
onto BYU before Bronco became coach. After they have all left, look at the
cuboard now.....completely bare except for a highly rated quarterback that is
proving that maybe he was too highly rated. Just saying....maybe Bronco doesn't
know how to recruit.
How would that be to be watching a blackout game in 08, and decide then and
there that you wanted to be a part of it while two years later you were playing
IN that game. Wow, I can only imagine that feeling. I would give the nod to
TCU if it was in Ft Worth, but Rice Eccles is a place that losing just doesn't
happen. With the MUSS behind them, anything is possible. Here's to an epic
game, GO Utes!
NC UTES: BYU should only be SCARED if the Utes play better than you spell. I
would imagine all football players are SCARRED after years of playing though.
No question about it, Saturday’s game will pay major dividends for the
2011 class. I’m hearing a number of prospects will be attending and scores
of others will be watching. Nothing trumps ESPN Game Day exposure when selling
the program and university. Look for another top notch class as the Utes head
into the conference of champions. On the other hand; A game will be
played “down south” between two horrendous “teams” in
front of a half filled stadium. You can almost hear the crickets for here.
sammygI guess it does make sense that you know Barbara's stuff and
use her song to start your smack talk. With the best O line in the
conference, (who has allowed 3 sacks all year!) I'm sure Jordan is not really
concerned. With Devonte back, he will have all of his weapons to take complete
advantage of every play.Go Utes, one game at a time!
SammyG: The word is "cue" - que is a Spanish word for "what". Just so you
know.I love to hear your predictions. They have been ALL wrong so
far. So the mathematical, statistical probability of your current predictions
coming true are zero, plus or minus 1%.Got to hand it to you for
tenacity. Most people so consistently wrong would have given up weeks ago. I
just look forward to you coming back next week and admitting that we are
deserving of our ranking, like you promised, if we win.Go Utes! Go
Crimson! On to victory #9 against the toads!!
more hedgy hyperboleThanks to that mid-major sized stadium on the
hill, there will be about 15,000 more fans attending the BYU-UNLV game than that
"epic" battle on the hill.Utah will need a top notch recruiting
class just to keep from sinking to the bottom half of the PAC. Unfortunately,
one top notch class does not a program build and three or four middle of the PAC
finishes in a row will have the Utes back to competing against the Aggies and
Wildcats for recruits.
Sammygyou coug's are supposed to stay away from alcohol!?!?
I predict Utah will win and sammyg will still find a way to make excuses and run
his big mouth about how wonderful the TDS is and how their going to be blessed
enough to pull off a miracle and top the Utes. How many losses have you
predicted now sammy? 6? 7? you need a job in Vegas as a bookie so we can know to
bet the opposite of whatever you say.
by the way sammy, 2+2+3=7. or does math get the same attention as science in a
SammyG, please come down to College Gameday this year and enjoy the weather and
the plathera of UTES fans that will stomp a mud hole on your Cougar happy soul!
Utah & TCU will be a tremendous game! Utah and BYU will be a repeat of 2004 and
2008! Please come down from Springville Sammy G
LOTR: There will be more people at RES and Iggy's Sports Grill that at LES. As
for you recruiting; you obviously have not paid attention or followed Utah
recruiting. There have been multiple top notch classes recruited by Kyle
Whittingham and the coaching staff. This coming year will be just one more.
There is no question that the PAC 12 will present more competitive games.
However, Utah won't have to go undefeated to get recognition and better bowl
consideration. To bad the Y will not be able to say the samething
@ Davidute fan: I don't know if I've ever read Sammyg say anything wonderful
about BYU. I think he is just a Utah hater. Makes sense though. Jealousy
creates hate. Sammy, Haven't they taught you better than that? Listen to the
sermons on Sunday. Quit falling alseep and dreaming of the days of yesteryear
in Provo. I am sure you will become a BYU fan once basketball starts.
Then hopefully you'll stay away from the Ute articles.
Good Luck Utes...you guys are impressive...believe and focus and do YOUR job and
you will win. Make us proud!!Go Utes!!!!
Good luck this weekend! Probably the toughest game of the entire year,
including a possible NC or BCS game. I live 5 miles from TCU and have gone to a
few games this year, I don't believe I have ever seen a better team play in the
last few years, that said I haven't watch any of the Utes this year. Our D gave
them a fight until the last 1:32 debacle in the first half. My logic is if we
can give them a battle, then surely at home the UTES have a good chance. But
they remember well 2008!!, Be Loud!!!I wish you the best, and I
apologize for SammyG, he unfortunately is letting hedgy, utes4life,
utahcountyute and bass get to him. Hopefully we won't have more fans become
like them and haunt your boards as they do ours. Also, let it die,
your team is much better than BYU's this year, enjoy the season, a possible
national title year does not come around very often even if your in the SEC and
they hand it to you on a silver platter.
Don't worry Wynn! We will remind you of why you should have gone to Colorado
this weekend. We won't make the same mistake twice!Blow
out!!! TCU 38 Utah 10
Toadforlife: Thanks for stopping by. Now take your second place trophy (like
with your sole BCS appearance) and be on your way!! Dalton will get
beat like the ugly red-headed step sister that he is!Go Utes! Beat
the toads!!Utah 27- tcU 17Have fun with the Mtn. next
HornytoadforlifeWhat mistake was that? Are you referring to the
missed field goal? Get a kicker I guess. Cannot wait to see this
game between two very good teams! The Utes will take care of business though
and finish the job by winning the BCS game that the frogs couldn't.Cheers
HornedfrogforLife,I'm guessing The media doesn't cover the frogs in
Texas, right? that's why you found your way to the Dnews, right? Now
hit yourself in the face.
wwookie--Of course, Utah has taken some recruits from BYU in recent
years and IF Utah continues to play at this level, they will do better and
better in recruiting. And also I did not mean to imply that Utah football
players that are LDS are not as faithful or anything as BYU athletes. I just
meant that many people go to byu for reasons other than football or education or
whatever reasons that other schools use to recruit and byu will continue to get
those kids. Thats why BYU will always be pretty good and never great, unless
they start getting the players that utah goes after in California and Texas,
etc. Oh, and you're right--a lot of qb's havent served missions... I dont
really know what to say about that. I guess qb's just think they're special and
dont need to... lol
I love how laid back Wynn looks in the picture. He looks confident, which is
what he's been in all the games this season. He's made mistakes of course, but
he shakes them off and keeps going. Reminds me of Alex Smith and Brian Johnson.
The best part? He's only a sophomore!! Looking forward to more of the same in
the future. GO UTES!!!
Andy Dalton and the frogs will have the same look on their faces that they did
in the Fiesta Bowl. Confused & Nervous. Dalton will throw those sky passes over
his receivers heads just like he always does when he feels the heat. TCU has
been the college football sweeties all season long and when they get smacked
around on Saturday we'll see who believed what hype. Utes were in a dogfight
last week that woke them up. When was TCU tested? Like last year BSU got on them
and they lost their composure. This year it will be the blackout at RES with the
same results...they can't win the big one! Wynn will play smart and the offense
HAS been holding out for this game. Expect the confusion to be everywhere for
TCU. Defense & Offense will be playing on their heels. Utah 42 TCU 28 Go Utes!!!
@ FlyingUteWhen has utah been tested in 2010? Ahhhhh never!Go Frogs! Take the utes to the woodshed!
The difference is, that coach whittingham prepares his teams for big games,
better than any other coach in the nation. He is a defensive minded coach with a
explosive offense. He knows how to gameplan, for each team he plays. Unless you
havent played football you wouldnt realise this. The utes come out ready to
play, no matter who is on the other side of the ball. This is the biggest game
of the 2010 season, no matter what byu or tcu fans say, because the coaches and
players feel the same way. its going to come down to which team is prepared
better, and thats something whittingham knows how to do, very well.
hey davidyewtyfanDid you know that sacks aren't turnovers?Sammy isn't the one to look foolish after all.
