Paul is a solid pro,he`ll have his off days but always give it his all.Matthews was a lot like him.I`m hoping Pauls work ethic rubs off on everyone especially the new kids Hayward and Evans,GO JAZZ!!!
The Jazz's frontline of Jefferson and Millsap looks undersized, and has also been out-quicked at times. Also, the Jazz's outside shooting has been a huge weakness thus far.
Perhaps the Jazz used too much of the preseason to showcase skills of marginal NBA players, rather than giving the Jazz's main lineups sufficient time to play together and mesh.
On the bright side, Gordon Hayward looks like he could become a dominant NBA player. Surprisingly, Hayward looks much better on defense than expected, but he still displays great ball-hawking skills, as expected. He also plays surprisingly big for his actual size. Who would have expected him to be mixing it up on rebounds and blocking shots? Once he gets a bit stronger and is able to become a more consistent shooter, he could dominate on both ends of the court.
Fesenko also continues to show promise. If he can develop a jumpshot out to about 18 feet (a big "if"), and can continue to develop his court sense, so he has better positioning on defense and rebounding, he could also dominate.
It may be painful, but is also fun and exciting, to watch this team develop.
I would like to see the Jazz replace Bell in the starting lineup with Hayward, playing Hayward at shooting guard. Although Hayward would have some rookie growing pains, and has not yet found any consistency with his jumpshot, I think he could provide the starting lineup with the spark it seems to be missing. Right now, the first string Jazz offense seems very stagnant, and Hayward could add some ball-hawking and spark on offense. I also think Hayward and Kirilenko could be really dynamic in playing off each other, both on offense and defense.
Also, Hayward would also add size to the starting lineup, which has seemed to be a bit undersized, especially in the frontcourt. Surprisingly, Hayward appears to be an extremely good rebounder for his size and position--and even has promise as a shot blocker. I think Hayward's size at shooting guard would help offset the disadvantage of a somewhat undersized front court of Jefferson and Millsap.
I think that putting Bell on the second team could also make the second team much stronger, so the second team could dominate.
Lineup:
Jefferson Fesenko Elson
Millsap Evans
Kirilenko Miles
Hayward Bell
Williams Watson Price
Okur (injured)
Millsap looked really good last night. Jefferson looked really bad his 20 points weren't worth all the turnovers and missed shots. We might as well have started Fesenko and Milsap in the front court. Millsap needs to become D-Will's go to guy now. We didn't run any pick and rolls last night what's up with that?!
Milsap should be team captain. He has shown much better poise than D-Will....since he first came into the league.
