"'There is not a more disciplined, more mentally tough team in the country than the Falcons,' said Utah coach Kyle Whittingham."
This is the reason we will win the game Saturday. Coach Whitt will always keep the team grounded.
Really looking forward to watching the game. I really wish the best for coach Calhoun and the Falcons. What a class organization and coach. Unfortunately, they have to play the Utes on Saturday. If, by chance, they do win on Saturday, I will be the first in line to congratulate Coach Calhoun. Otherwise.....
Go Utes! Go Crimson! On to win #8 at Air Force!
Of course they lead the nation in rushing, that's all they do is rush the ball 90% of the time. I have a lot of respect for Calhoun and the AF academy, but I hope the Utes destroy them. Go Utes!
Props to Calhoun for running such a disciplined and tough team, he's much like coach Whitt in that he doesn't look past opponents and gives respect where it is due. I do think he is trying to make the Utes overconfident with his "they are the best Ute team ever" comment. The Utes won't get a big head, they learned their lesson at Wyoming. I hope they come out swinging, have a great second quarter again and roll over AFA and bid another MWC foe a crushing farewell. GO UTES!!!
As a former member of the US Air Force, and a Cougar fan, I have multiple reasons to cheer for the Falcons this weekend. Go Falcons!!!!!
how many times U came close losing to AFA? So close and so many times. Maybe it is AFA time. Go gettem cadets.
Live Hard !!! Why don't you place your money on some other good bets... Democrats remain in control of the House, The Utah Jazz win the NBA Championship, Nancy Polosi says no to a new spending Bill. Barney Frank goes straight, A BYU fan swears off caffeine laced Diet Coke.
We will be there cheering on our Utes! But boy, it's hard to root against Air Force. There are no words that describe the class and honor that school has. My hat's off to them and I will miss Utah being associated with that fine learning institution.
Air Force is the classiest team we will face all year. It's too bad our little sisters down south haven't been able to learn from Air Force. Final score:
Utes 42
Falcons 17
Remember, you heard it first from Uncle Spurlock.
The D will have their hands full with AFA for sure!
I always appreciate what the cadets do and the class they bring to the field, but the Utes gotta take care of business. Utes by 14.
Go Utes, one game at a time!
I love this game. Every year it's one of the best on the Utes' schedule and they get a chance to show what they're made of. However, I think this year will be a little bit different because not only do the Utes have a fast, strong defense as usual, but they have a dynamic, explosive offense as well. Utes will take it by at least three touchdowns.
GO UTES!!!
This will be a fun game to watch. Utah really does have to watch the turnovers though. If AFA gets a lead, any turnover could seal the Utes fate.
Utah will have to get ahead early. And dont expect AFA to make the same mistake they did at TCU by not going for it on 4th and 1s. The Ute D will be tested even more than the TCU D was.
I was a little aggresive in expecting 49 from the utes, but too late, my prediction is out. (I wanted to adjust down to 35, even with the falcons missing Tew).
Otis,
Utah fan today? That's odd. You seem to switch a lot. Sometimes you're a byu fan on these boards. And you talk of class? Hilarious. Max is great.
I do think the yewties will cruise Saturday. Even to this cougar, it's clear the yewts are legit this year.
All we hear is how tough and disciplined AF is. They have done nothing but beat some patsies. Very little respect to Utah. Whit will have them prepared. TCU exposed them bad and they gave up quickly. Take it to them! Go Utes!
Both great programs, great players and coaches. This will be fun!!! Good luck to both teams!
