"McCullough noted in his talk last year that Churchill had never heard "Little Town of Bethlehem," a carol authored by clergyman Phillips Brooks in the 1860s, until the morning following his joint appearance with Roosevelt, when he attended a Christmas service with the president."

That is kind of strange because "O Little Town" was published in "The English Hymnal" (used by the Anglican Church) in 1906, new edition 1933, and also in "The Oxford Book of Carols" in 1928. It was sung to a different tune, "Forest Green", but nonetheless it was known in England.

This man changed my life and instilled a passion for history...I love the writings of David McCullough and look forward to reading his lastest and watching the video...if only Jimmy Carter had the wisdom and leadership of Churchill who asked all to turn their christmas lights on...Carter told everyone to turn their Christmas lights out...people who lead do matter.

I wish I could buy this book in an eBook format. I was at the concert and Mr. McCullough and Ms. Cole were wonderful.

Good timing on the book and fond memories of Larry Miller. NO matter how the election goes this winter we need Christ's influence felt this winter as never before except that war.
