Ah, the Triad Center. It brings back memories of Adnan Khashoggi,
bankruptcy, arms deals and unused structural steel.
I'm surprised too. This is a sign that the Des News is really not in
business-as-usual mode. I would have thought they would stick to the building
bearing their name until the bitter end, but I suppose that wouldn't allow the
KSL link-up to ever really happen if they were across town.
jdcray, Do you remember a couple months back when they reported on laying off a
huge chunk of their staff? At that same time they changed their business model
to join forces with KSL and announced that they would be moving to the Triad
Center. I'm surprised to see they made the move so quickly, though. I wonder if
they've found anyone to lease any part of the building.
Guess I missed other stories about the Des News moving... WHY did it move from
its latest location on Regents St & 1st South? I guess I don't understand why
the paper would move after just 13 years from that building that bears its name.
