Not mentioned in the article was the significant reduction in size of the pond somewhere around the 1970 era. Also, the old steam locomotive was on display in the park for many years until it was removed for unknown reasons.
This has been fun to take a stroll down memory lane at Liberty Park. As a teenager I worked there during the summer months, and recently was in Utah and revisited the ole stomping grounds.
It still is a beautiful place.
Lots of great memories, from paddleboats, the concession stand, to park rides and everything in between...
