Forget stats, Ursua should be considered the best QB in the state based on the amount of touchdowns produced per completion or rushes as a percentage..
he actually has a better percentage than the top 5 QB in the state..

here is the breakdown..

passing rushing
comp/att yds td/int td% att/yd td td%

Ursua 67/114 1115 17/5 25% 49/575 10 20%

Moyle 132/199 2059 25/4 18% 75/591 17 22%

Bate 77/127 1260 22/4 28% 9/5 0 0%

Covey 108/127 1403 20/2 18% 54/367 4 7%

Kuresa 171/263 2184 20/8 11% 102/93 13 12%

Ursua - 22.5% td production per pass or rush
Moyle - 20%
Bate - 14%
Covey - 12.5%
Kuresa - 11.5%

Jasper check your math on Bate he should be 25.5% base on your thinking and the top QB ...... just joking. I think Kuresa and Covey are the top 2 QB's in 4A and the kid at East is pretty good also. The number #1 measurement of a QB in my book is Winning the big games .....

Summertime....

Covey has 41 more completions and Kuresa has 104 more than Ursua yet each only have 3 more touchdown passes that Ursua.

Kuresa has more completions than Ursua has attempts... that being said, if you double Ursua's numbers and make him 134/228 with 2230 yards he would still trail Kuresa in terms of attempts/completions but would be on pace to have 34 td passes.

Writers really should do their homework. John was not a slot receiver last year. He was the starting QB at Westlake last year also after playing slot at his former school in Hawaii. Nice article overall though.

Jasper, you're delusional!
If you go by stats, Kuresa and Moyle are by far and away tops.
What really matters is the eye test. Ursua is the real deal but in his head to head match up with Covey, it wasn't even close who the better player was on the field. From watching that game, Covey not only outplayed him, but was a waaaay better leader for his team!
Ursua may be the best athlete in the state and has much more upside on the next level, but he's not the best QB in the state (for now at least. Next year he should be the best for sure if he works hard).
