That was one of those ties that almost felt like a win. It was the kind of game that creates loyal fans. Not the ideal result, but still a great one.
Really entertaining finish and frustrating game. That ref is the stereotypical MLS ref. What was he thinking? First he calls a pk and then changes his mind? Is that in the rule book anywhere? Glad we got that late goal so it didn't matter.
After we went down 1-0 i was satisfied it did kinda feel like a win especially with us not having most of our players in the starting lineup.
It was great to get a tie and keep the momentum going. It took some guts to put that many young guys out there (some who haven't played in months) and trust them. The one problem was Kreis (despite some brilliant coaching this year) panicked a bit and used up all of the subs too quickly. Seeing Espindola limp around in the final 10 minutes was worrisome.
By the lineup we fielded on Saturday I am guessing that we are saving guys for the CCL match against Toronto. I was a little surprised considering the fact that we had a chance to catch LA and clinch a play-off spot. I guess the coaches aren't too panicked about taking the supporters shield.
I guess when you think about it it makes sense. We have a chance to book our ticket to the knockout rounds against Toronto, LA was still going to be within 3 no matter what, and after the Toronto game life (and the schedule) can get back to normal.
Way to pull the game out guys, I was feeling pretty prowd of our team after that one.
I am extremely pleased as usual with Jason's squad and our effort. However, i think the reverse. We have a chance at point in Toronto without starters, we do need to win this division.
We dominated the Galaxy Millioniares at RIO. I want the game at home. We blew a chance. To me i am glad they did not call the handball, to me it is not a penalty with any type intent.
Do we really want to go to LA to win a 1 game "winner take all semi Final" Be honest...
Andy Williams great set up for Nat
To me this guy is the most underrated, subtle star, he is the "Paul Scholes" of MLS. He just does his job game after game without flair but great efficiency.
I have mixed feelings also toddfromsantaanna. I don't think the game in Toronto is a really dangerous game for us, and it would have been nice to be even with LA and stay 5 up on Dallas. Now Dallas is right on us and we still trail LA by 2.
This team seems to accomplish whatever goal it sets for itself though. If they decide they want the supporters shield I would not be surprised if it happened.
I'll be honest though, we keep talking about a showdown in LA. I think Dallas is the team to look out for in the playoffs.
