Cain is an unselfish player who always puts Utes' team first
The Utes are filled with players that share this type of attitude which is what
makes them great. They all talk about the next game and could care
less about individual plays or stats. It is all about the team and getting
better each week at Utah and the best players play. Credit Coach
Whit for building this depth, with guys like T-cain who are ready when they are
That there is no controversy nor angst is a testament to Coach Whit's coaching
and the quality of the young men he recruits. No focus on a position like those
who think of tds at quarterback u. Refreshing!
UteMans directly on point. Whittingham recruits players with character that are
team players, not individual superstars (that generally ruin a team rather than
make them great. Just look at the wake of destruction after T.O. and Deon
Sanders went through several teams in the NFL)If there is no drama
around the decision of who will start at qb, then why is the DN obsessed with
it?a) they want to draw attention away from their beloved blue baby
and all of her problemsb) they love drama and are trying to make something
out of nothingc) they arent creative, analytic or inquiring enough to
actually write a real sports story (like maybe reporting on Shakerin, or utah
ties with the trojans, or any of the other milion stories waiting to be reported
Players reflect off their coach. Congratulations to Terrance, coach, and the
Utes overall for winning the battle of character that carries through their
whole life.Hopefully T-Cain leave Utah and can have a good career
like Brett Ratliffe who spent his own share of games on the sidelines for the
Utes but is in his ever important 3rd year in the NFL this year (qualifies for a
pension after 3 years).Continued success.
TC is a great example for his team; it makes me think of my own need to be more
team oriented, less selfish.
Utes by far the best team to be a fan of, nothing but class all the way, they
emulate their coach.
Coach Whitt needs to play Cain in every game on certain plays. He should be
rewarded for his fine play and the team needs him and Wynn.
Nothing but good to say about Cain and the coaching staff for keeping it "one
game at a time" even if it is San Jose St.Go Utes!
How lucky are to have Brian Johnson as QB Coach. He and Morgan have the
mid-west Texas area for recruiting and they are a big part of the current
successes of our QB's. Having the MVP of the Sugar Bowl as coach really is
making a difference in the the Utes football program. No talk of a
rebuilding year and there is no excuse for not making your mind up in fall
two-a-days who your QB is. Rebuilding ? Remember that Coach Whit lost not
just some great Seniors last year but also his offensive and defensive
coordinators. That could be an excuse down south yet Whitt never batted an eye
and went 10-3. I just don't see the coaches down at the Y as very good
coaches. Judging by the performances so far I can't help but have some empathy
for the student athlete coming to the Provo for a visit. Way to much chaos and
confusion , poor coaching , and an unknown opponent to prepare for could
discourage more than a few from signing their LOI.I'm not sure that they will
want that kind of BYU EXPERIENCE. GO UTES !!
This kid has a great amount of character. He says that he got it growing up
from his family. Boy, would I like to meet this family! Coach Whit and his
staff have coached a lot of high character guys over the years, Eric Wheddle
being another one.
Great job T-Cain. Keep up the strong work---you will be needed!
Cain is a class act. 20-23 against UNM is a great statistic. Considering that
Kellan Moore of BSU, regard by many as the best QB in college FB right now, was
21-23 on Saturday shows just how good Cain is. Plus, we've got Wynn too. I think
we'll see Cain getting plenty of play time this season, especially during some
of our tougher games like TCU or AFA. What an advantage it will be to know that
we can put someone like Cain in to give Wynn some rest, fully confident that we
won't lose any momentum. That's how a real 2-QB system works...
Here is a good Ute article about a fine young man and athlete that just doesn't
have true QB skills, not unlike another player Nelson who is also a team player
and never complained or anything about his situation but doesn't have the skills
to be THE man either, and it's funny how you just can't wait to comment and
take shots at BYU, you Utesies are so obsessed with BYU its just a joke. Utefan -Wookie -the hailstorm -Shawnm750And seriously Shawnm750? New
Mexico??? its New Mexico. #114 in pass defense(USA today). Cain is a fine player
and great guy but I don't think he comes anywhere close to the skills Kellen
Moore has, he won a BCS bowl, you guys put a lot of stock in BCS wins. Cain
hasn't won a BCS bowl, he beat a pathetic winless Lobo team.
Wow, so much class from Utah fans and yet still all they can do is take shots at
BYU.I hope you all get what you deserve when you face Air Force.
Cougar, please enlighten me on what Utah fans "deserve" when we face Air Force.
The team that puts the most points on the board is the only entity
that "deserves" anything, and that is a win because they have the most
points. If you are referring to a fan base deserving to lose because
some of their members exhibit less than flattering behavior, well, the two are
unrelated. If that were so, then every team would deserve to lose, even BYU.
Thank you coach Whitt and coach Johnson for cultivating an atmosphere of family
and unselfishness. The team and players are truly examples of team first and of
class!!It is truly great to be a Ute!!Revenge will be oh
so sweet on November 27!!
Utes have a 3-0 record against teams with a combined record of 1-8.
@DC: and the zoo is 1-2, soon to be 1-3. So what's your point? Go
Utes!! Go Crimson!!
It's strange think that the "QB factory" down south could learn a lesson from
Utah regarding QB play. Ha ha. . .
@DCThe tds undefeated season in '84 didn't beat a single top AP 25
team ranked at the end of the season, either. What does that say about your "so
Great article about a great team player.
