Did the Dart's have an injury last night?

Fan-attick

Darts had their entire team. Titans shut them down. Titans controlled the game and the darts seemed to be fighting among themselves with frustration.
They are very beatable. Northridge played Titans much tougher. Darts may be overrated and Titans underrated, region 1 still up for grabs.

RealOldGuy

You are so right Fan-attick. You must know a lot about high school football.

After seeing this score Bingham fans shouldnt be worried about davis, not that they were before. Didnt syracuse only beat viewmont by 2 tds?

True Blue Layton Fan

R1 is turning out to be another tight region. Love it.

AltaDad

Football881 - Bingham fans should be worried. With comments like that they are just going to have to worry about getting their helmets on.

Bingham aint worried about anyone, especially in 5A! I am excited for next year when all these Alta parents keep talking about next year, ha what???? Think Bingham won't just reload?? The only team to compete with Bingham will be Timpview, oh wait they do not play, good!

Go Miners!! Welcome Herriman to the Real school in the area!

Football881

Just pointing out the facts...everyone else was thinking it! After the way your team looked last night you should be worried Alta dad...your team has gotten a lot worse since week 2!

Utah_Football

This davis team is very talented and could compete with anyone in the state on the right day BUT there is something called EGO that this group of guys have. They thought they could walk all over Syracuse just because of a couple easy wins. I think they simply took Syracuse too lightly and thought it was going to be a gimme win, obviously it wasnt. This Davis team needs to wake up and realize that in region 1 what teams lack in talent they make up for in desire. Teams dont give up in region 1 when they are playing the top dog. Region 1 teams are upset hungry! Champion teams dont have off weeks, and Coach Bishop realizes that and will get on these guys to realize that they still have a whole season and post season and cant take weeks off. Dont worry they will be back up to par next week if they live in the now and not last season

AltaDad

Oh By the way, I have seen Davis, and they are a very good team.

DHS-Football

Davis high football team this year, knows how to play! They will not lose a game this year. They will be region 1 champs forsure. Quarterback Gavin, will keep them going. Also watch out for the Hart boys, Moffett.

I think your comment about the other Region 1 teams lacking talent was way out of line. There is a lot of talent in Region 1 - some of it is on the Davis team and a lot of it is on the other Region 1 teams.
The Darts EARNED only 3 first downs the entire game, they got 3 more handed to them on penalties. They have had a very easy schedule up until last week.
The last game should be a roadmap for the "very talented" Layton teams to see how to shut down Davis non-productive offense.
Maybe the boys helmets will be fitting a little better this week and maybe their parents baseball caps also.

Football881

Davis wont lose a game? They will sonner or later have to play Bingham. Who wont play a horrible first half like last year. You dont have a shot. If your barely beating syracuse, then alta, c-wood, jordan, hunter and a number of other teams will probably beat you too. You might be good but you not going undefeated.

KnightsFan

Cant wait for the davis northridge game! I believe that will determine who takes region 1! Both have tough games this week though.

LP Fan!

Agreed Football881 4 scoreless quarters after having 40 plus games before and the teams werent that good. i hope northrdige beats them. because if they play like they did on friday they are in trouble

I'm sorry if the fact that ALL of region 1 has a talent deficit offends you, but it is a fact that without open enrolled schools in davis county all of the talent is distributed according housing, not which football program is strongest. I mean think if the best players from layton davis and northridge all chose 1 school to go to because of its football program strength, then we'd have a monster program every season. And im sure that i'll get some heat from slc fans saying "alta doesnt recruit, that's bingham!" or "bingham doesnt recruit thats cottonwood!" Its all true the coaches dont recruit but the successful football history does. open enrollment should end in utah and soon, level the playing ground. and 1 last thing, maybe i shouldnt say "talent deficit" but instead "talent locked"

davis_fan

by the way DAVIS did have an injury. There running back had some sort of ankle injury. But they still won anyway cuz there starting D has not given up any points this year. There running back averages 120 a game and 3 td's when you lose that, games need to be won on defense. The darts did what needed to be done

davis_fan

By the way Davis did have an injury friday night, there running back Day had an ankle injury early in the first quarter, and when you lose 120 ypg and 3 td's then the defense has to step up just like they have all year. there starting D has not given up a point

razorback

I'm not a big follower of Region 1 but I note that due to the size of the region, the R1 teams can only play two non-region games at the most in the regular season and many of them schedule only one non-region game. A number of those non-region games are played against 4A teams. So it really is diffucult to assess how they stack up against the rest of 5A.

I am aware that Davis beat Brighton soundly and were up handily even by halftime. Lone Peak did not handle Brighton so easily and Hunter lost to Brighton. So I for one cannot discount Davis' victory over Brighton.

The only other R1/Other 5A matchup worth noting was Fremont losing to Jordan by 10.

Bottom line - nobody really knows how R1 will compete in state until we get to playoffs. They represented themselves well last year and will assume they can do so again. That's really one of the key things that keeps the first two rounds of the 5A playoffs interesting. It's the first real chance the rest of us get to see R1 outside of their box.

RCR

Davis needed a game like that to bring them to Earth. The defense looked good and made plays when they had to make plays. The offense is the same old story. That's why Davis' offense can only run about 6 plays. The receivers got past the coverage, but the accuracy is still off. That attributed to the questionable P.I. calls.

Davis will make the playoffs and has just as good a chance this year as anyone for second place. Let's be realistic. Bingham is the best team in the State. Everyone else is playing for runner-up.
