There is no such thing as a "non-criminal" illegal. Illegal is by definition "Prohibited by law." Synonyms are " criminal, felonious, illegitimate, illicit, lawless, unlawful, wrongful."
Most of them also possess forged documents. Being a hard worker and wanting the best for the family does not excuse the actions.
If they are married or related to a U.S. citizen or a legal resident who has filed a petition on their behalf, they will be let go, thanks to ICE chief Morton and the current Administration. It's part of their amnesty.
At 33% of last year, our government is making even less of an effort to solve the problem.
There is no such thing as a noncriminal illegal alien and the sooner the news media gets there head back in the sunshine they might learn something.
Every illegal alien is a threat to every working American and our government and our economy. Every job is threatened by illegal labor and business will go to no end to defeat american labor. At some point the DN will decide this report is making too much money, fire him.
These illegals say they are doing nothing wrong, that's outright liar talk. Just because they haven't shot anybody that we know of, doesn't make them noncriminal. Too bad the families and children aren't being deported. Does the news media really enjoy paying the taxes for illegal labor? Does the news media think that tax evasion is not a criminal act? Does the news media think ID theft is not a crime? Where does being an illegal alien become legal? They are economic criminals and labor criminals at the very least. Invasion and occupation is a felony that deserves prejudiced actions.
Go ICE, git'er done. Illegal mexicans are not immigrants, legal or illegal. They are foreign nationals, period.
Someone has to do this work. Thank you ICE for sending the message of zero tolerance when it comes to apprehending those who have broken the law by being here illegally.
Those who are being sent back to their own country should have thought of their families and taken them back with them. There should be a program where when you go voluntarily you can take a spouse and one child on the U.S.'s tab. Any others, you pay for your own. No whining either.
Solution: It is about time these illegals started leaving voluntarily. Maybe there could be a program where they could get an option for the State help them to go on their own but take a spouse and one child and they pay for the others who may be their own children, or child.
Then it would not be such a shock or have more cooperation on both sides.
Why must we differentiate between those with a criminal record versus those without a criminal record, in determining who gets deported? It's obvious when an illegal immigrant says "it isn't fair" that he was picked up when he has a clean record, that he just doens't understand. If you're here illegally, then in truth, you don't have a clean record.
I sympathize with these people who only want to make a living for their families. And I realize that our admission rules need fixing - but, do it legally! All are welcome who come here legally!
Deseret Media claims to be non-biased, but here is a blatant example of the side that they take.
Funny how even the headline has the words "Noncriminal" and "Illegal" together. An OXYMORON. They are not noncriminal *because* they are illegal.
Non-Criminal Alien??? Are you kidding me? Lets call a spade a spade here. Thats like calling a Drug Dealer an Unlicenced Pharmicist...
If these people are using false Documents Thats FRAUD, Fake Social Security Card thats Counterfieting a FERDAL DOCUMENT, An I.D. or Drivers Licence in someone elses name... IDENTITY THEFT
Wake Up! They are a Criminal Illegal Alien when they Choose to Enter This Country Illegaly!
They Do not contribute to the Economy Look at all the money that they send out of the Country
And as for Breaking up their Family unit give them a choice to take their Family with them... if they choose not to take them... Thats on them ILLEGAL IS ILLEGAL
If someone is in the country illegally, they are a criminal. If they are employed, they would have provided fraudulant documents to their employer, including a bogus social security number that most likely has been issued to a US citizen. There are always additional crimes committed when an illegal alien is working in the US illegally.
I'm so tired of the straw man argument deportation tearing families apart. Using this rationale, we should release all criminals since their incarceration has torn a family apart.
As a country, we need to do away with all incentives for illegals to come here in the first place.
If we don't 'build it', they will not come.
"Non-criminal" ILLEGAL immigrants? Do you guys read what you write? If the are illegal, they are criminals. Catch and deport rather than being selective about which laws you are enforcing.
Entering America illegally is a crime. Non-criminal illegal aliens is an oxymoron. All are criminals. Not nearly enough are arrested and few are sent back to wherever they came from. What is the point of such a headline?
The home sported a weapon and fake papers. Those are crimes. Crimes in addition to not being legal.
I can't believe that some people have the nerve to feel entitled to be here illegally.
Nice sob story - It made my day.
So what is the point of this article? Are we supposed to feel bad that someone who is breaking the law gets arrested and sent back where they belong? Are the police supposed to ignore traffic laws and just go after bank robbers? When the law is broken it is their duty to enforce it. Every illegal with a job that we send home is a job opened up to an American citizen who has a right to be here. One company reported last week that an ad for an average wage job yielded 600 applicants. How can anyone argue that we need illegal aliens from Mexico to take over jobs here? Count on the DN to come up with a sob story that favors illegals over American workers.
Clearly we need to change the laws such that those that come here and demonstrate a hard work ethic, and family values with intent to provide for their families should be allowed to stay and obtain legal citizenship. These are not the people we should be afraid of.
Hard job, glad that Feds in Utah are doing something. We need more sweeps..
How is an illegal not a criminal???? 1)They are breaking the law by not being her legally, 2) Fake SS cards were found in their possesion. When did ID theft, or forged documents become OK? 3) One had a prev. record involving domestic violence, and driving without a license, but no, he's not a criminal?
Yeesh!!! Non criminal illegal - talk about an oxymoron!!!
I cannot understand how Christian people can have such little compassion for illegal immigrants who are here illegally, but are otherwise good citizens. If you took the time to get to know these families you might be able to empathize with them. ICE definitely is doing some good work, but some of these arrests and deportations are heartless. Whatever your opinion on immigration, let's try to have some compassion for these families who go through these traumatic experiences. It's how the Savior would want us to treat them. If you hope for mercy on Judgement Day, show some mercy in your interaction with others.
A crime is a crime. Illegal is illegal. Is this legal crime?
