Comments about ‘High school football: Knights knock off Lancers 13-9’

Heartbreaker. Tough D game. Tough game winning drive drop in the end zone drive killer. Layton should surprise some in R1 this year. Not sure if Northridge is overrated or if Layton is better than some expected. Derek Thomas is a stud and will carry this team as far as he can. Way to go Layton. Use this loss as motivation the rest of the year.

I am surprised that the "D" news has had two weeks in a rowe of friday night high school football results on region 1 about the Knights of Northridge.

I am wondering why the "D" news is promoting the knights from region 1 and not the returning region 1 champion ? This is odd.

The more exciting game, at least, for a quarter or so was the Davis @ Weber game.

OK I am sorry the Lancer vs. the Knights was a better match up to see and report :)

That was a great game and Layton played very well! I think it was a huge wake up call for the Knights we are just lucky it came and we still got the W. Layton's running game is great, not sure why they get away from it sometimes. Northridge's offense is explosive when they dont hurt themselves! And to big Hapa, northridge is getting the articles cause they are playing in the bigger games, when davis gets layton and syracuse there will be reporters there, don't worry.

Next home game for Layton.....standing room only again vs. Davis!!!

Layton fans come early next week...it could be over quick!

You are correct the Knight vs. Titan and Lancer games had the real test for region 1 not Davis vs. Clearfield and Weber. Both programs, so far, are the undefeated teams in region 1 and hopfully meet on the 24th as the two undefeated schools.

The Brighton Bengals slugged out a win against pre season #6 Hunter redeeming themsleves, some what, from the showing in there opener with Davis. They are now 2 & 1 on the young season.

Not to take anything away from Davis, but the Bengals are better then what they showed up at Davis stadium on the 4th, they simply forgot to show up and had zero game that night.

I wish the Bengals good luck in the remaining season.

I agree the Knight/Dart clash on the 24th will be a huge game and most likely will determine the region 1 champ. I believe Davis will win out until that point and if the Knights can play like they know how to they will be be undefeated at that point as well! Should be a great game. Let's take care of bonneville first though!

I can understand if Brighton got clobbered and lost by a few touchdowns because they didn't show up to play...but I was at the game and it wasn't even close. Davis had their 3rd team offense and defense in 1/2 way through the 3rd quarter. Brighton didn't even come CLOSE to scoring (I can only recall 1 time that they got inside Davis' 30 yard line. Is Brighton better than the 34-0 pasting they took? Probably, but they were boys among men in that game. I don't know if Brighton plays Bingham or not but it would be a 40 or 50 something to nothing shellacking...I give credit when it is due but Brighton isn't a top team...and neither is Hunter.

Well that is why they play the game not "say the game" talk is simply that talk.

The region 1 champ will be who is unbeaten and after what I have seen the Darts do I am sure it will be them.

But it is only talk and it is cheap as well.

You are right on with your game assessment.
The Darts had there way with the Bengals. I was there and was happy to see so many 2nd, 3rd string and even a freshman "D" lineman got playing time.

This was a perfect time for teaching so many boys game speed and timing all the untangables taught in real game situations.

In guess I needed to clarify next time when I simply state" not to take anything away from the Darts" next time.
