In those days (from the beginning of the Holiday Bowl and for a number of years) we had tickets to "The BYU Bowl" and enjoyed every one of those games. But when Robbie came in after having been helped off the field, hardly able to walk, let alone run and look for receivers, that touchdown pass had to be one of the gutsiest plays in all of college football bowls. And that was when every team in America had at least a chance to earn a bowl bid. Them's were da good ol' days!

Too bad there wasn't a BCS game to play in. To be one of 10 teams invited is the highest honor.

Amazing season and a great game.

I won't say that it didn't count... but in 1984, there wasn't a NC game. There were just bowl games.

Oh, no - someone mentioned the National Championship team of 1984 - look for the Utefan spam to start littering the airwaves with their favorite reasons why it didn't "really count..."

I was at the '84 Nat'l Champ game! That was one of the grittiest performancs/games I've ever seen Bosco was amazing that night! Thanks for memories, my friend!
