Call me crazy, but it sounds like there is a "glitch in the system," perhaps. How do all these candidates get disqualified for failing to file a form? Sounds a bit extreme.
'Melvin Nimer, the head of the Utah Log Cabin Republicans, a gay and lesbian political organization, became McAdams' opponent Wednesday.' - Article
'No.' Just because Nimer is part of a gay/lesbian Republican organization does not mean I will vote for them automatically.
It IS nice to see the Republican party show a little diversity though.
I will do my due diligence and read up on both canidates, Democrat and Republican alike before I vote for either.
And please, vote.
Where's the help for us?. The elderly, Veteran's, the poor, the middleclass, the disabled, the homeless, the unemployed, the sick and all the American common people. Let me remind you, Congress has the lowest approval of any entity in Government, now is the time when Americans will join together to reform Congress — the entity that represents us. Serving in Congress is an honor, not a career. The Founding Fathers envisioned citizen legislators, serve your term(s), then go home and back to work. Or go to jail, if appropriate. Capitalism works just get the corrupt government out of the way along with the bureaucrats, special interest, PAC's, Union's, lobbyists, and oh by the way, for the past 2 years the GOP just do not want to make a whole lot of waves or they won't get re-elected as a life long do nothing party of NO Moderate and RINO phony GOP career politician backed by the RNC. American's are tired of this. It’s called money, greed, corruption, above the law, (ignore us common people unless they need your votes), career politician’s who will take money from any special interest.
So, the Republs are running a candidate, in one of the few democratic district in the state. Nice of Niner to step in, but not very likely he will win.
It seems more and more the Republicans are throwing values voters under the bus. The Utah Republican party seems to not be caring about the causes of the voters and be too after special interest money.
Utah needs to reform its political system. The selection of candidates should be by the people of the district, not by county party committees. Utah has let the party structure have to much say in candidates. It is time to give more say to the people.

I'm a values voter. That's why I vote Democrat, because NO Republican has ever represented the values of the "other half" of Utah.
Values like separation of church and state.
Values like help for the truly needy and ill.
Values like SAVING THE UNBORN REGARDLESS OF COLOF (ie, those whose womb may belong to one of the detested "illegals").
Values like saving our public lands and environment, because without either, we have nothing.
Values like NOT inserting government into the bedrooms of the citizens.
