I wish all these food producers would move their products to the Murray park farmers market, a real farmers market where its all Utah food. Besides, parking is free in Murray and access better.
The Pioneer park market is anything but a farmers market, its an expensive and coslty joke.
Go to Murray Park people, where farmers are the headliners.
I really like the idea of buying locally produced food. It would be great to see more people making a living running small family farms. Healthier, fresher food makes sense to me.

Those are the funniest looking grass fed cows I have ever seen. Sorta look like pigs and fowl.
I didn't grow up on a Farm or anything, but I am pretty sure those are Pigs, not beef cattle in the picture.
They are right though. Grass fed is the best!
Interesting to read, but SOOO one sided. What happened to balancing stories with multiple sources of information? So much of the food information these people read is from emotional arguments not founded in reason or science.
Grass fed beef is akin to wild game....it is nutritious and free of impurities. Corn is basically not good for man or beast as well as other impurities and synthetic drugs administered to most stock yard beef.
It should be available in all markets. Costco has some in the ground beef section, a very limited selection however.
Grass/Hay fed beef is great, but you still need some grains at the end of life for marbling. We've raised a few head each year and have had great success doing it this way. Maybe it's time to start increasing the herd!
Even better, teach people to eat far less meat and
more veggies, etc., or no meat at all, so they'll be healthier physically and mentally - and the number of animals slaughtered will be less, much less, then people can truly be happy knowing they've
done good for the animals.
I'm a pretty hardcore vegan, so of course I'd be happy to see all animal consumption gone, but not everyone's going to stop eating meat, and this is such a HUGE improvement over factory farming, both for the environment and for the animals (not to mention other various issues such as slowing the growth of superbugs). So, all I can say is - go Utah!
Cato - Obviously, you don't read scientific studies as I read nothing in this article that is not supported scientifically. I guess you would rather stay with your 50 yr old corn paradigm than really learn something. Your choose.
Johnny T - you don't know a lot about raising cattle do you? Cattle do not "need grains at the end of life for marbling" as you state. Grain is not only foreign to a bovines diet, it is detrimental to the rumen. Grain raises the acidity of the rumen thus making the cattle susceptible to disease which is why your "grain" has feed grade antibiotics in it unless you are feeding organic grain. Cattle finish just fine if not better on grass, most folks just aren't willing to wait the time it takes to finish. By the way, healthy cattle can live 20+ yrs so not real sure about your end of life statement either unless you are referring to when you have chosen their end of life to be.
Vegans - I hate to break it to you, but it is impossible, not hard to do, impossible to get all of the proteins needed from veggies only!
