We don't have the money!

The actual cost to the taxpayers will be much more than the amount spent on the program because every dollar is being borrowed (mainly from China) and must eventually be paid back with interest by our kids.

We simply cannot afford every nice sounding program that helps people by throwing money at it.

By the way, what was the unit cost for the houses already done?

Will the Utah Department of Community and Economic Development comply with SB81 and ensure that no illegal aliens benefit from this program?

Words and Actions

Yes, we actually do have the money. Don't believe everything you hear on Fox News. We have how many trillions to spend on wars that benefit mega corporations like Halliburton and Z or whatever they are called these days. We are the wealthiest country in the world.

It is proven that the cost per weatherization vs the cost per deaths, hardships, homelessness and health problems far surpass deferring the actual cost up front. In other words weatherization saves the average elderly, disabled or basically indigent person $600 per year. When someone makes $7500-$13000 per year this is a HUGE amount of money.

Most people receiving these funds live unimaginably hard lives in squalor you can't even imagine. Weatherization helps them afford food, medical costs and prevents horrific health problems (like freezing to death or pneumonia.)

Get over it, and no, people who are undocumented don't get weatherization. Duh!
