Somehow the liberals will twist this into being our fault. The only way this country ever improves is when people take responsibility and stop looking to blame others for their problems. But that's not the liberal way.

Wow there is a Hispanic Dental Association... who knew? What does this mean?
Is there a African American Dental Association, Pacific Islander Dental Association, Asian Dental Association, or White Dental Association?

If people come here legally and assimilate then each new generation will do better economically and will have better dental care.

If people come here illegally, steal SS numbers, don't assimilate and want to reinstate the US southwest back to Mexico then this problem will continue. If they can buy food, a car and a house but won't get car insurance, home owners insurance, or lots of other things that responsible US citizen do, what make anyone think they'll take their children to the dentist?

Is this another thing that legal US citizens should pay for them to get? I don't think so.

It's not my fault! Don't they have toothbrushes in Mexico? Don't their parents tell them to brush? Eveyone else PAYS for dental care! Will the HDA treat them free?

The ultimate goal should be to help all people to learn their responsibilities while enjoying the blessings as Americans. The trouble is that many minority advocacy groups push for someone unther that the minorities to take responsibility for them. If they are to be granted the right to live in America, they should be immediately put on a fast track through all the assimilation requirements for citizenship, including learning English, etc. Then these problems would improve over time. The problems continue when that is not there sincere goal.

Older Reader, of course they will be treated for free. They already are!

I read earlier this year of a FREE clinic opened up in a predominantly hispanic elementary school to provide dental care not only for the students, but other family members as well.

In the Ogden area, we have the Health Access Team (HAT), paid for by your tax dollars and mine. This team of Spanish Speakers has the goal of scheduling medical appointments, arranging donated medical care AND driving these people to their appointments.

Medicaid already offers an emergency program to Illegal Aliens, paid for by you and me. This program pays for the vast majority of births of Illegal mothers.

To top it off, hospitals can submit claims to a program run by the Federal Government that offers reimbursement of uncompensated care, OPEN TO ILLEGAL ALIENS ONLY!
This is just in case the illegals don't qualify for emergency Medicaid.
There is no program like that for you and me.
We are expected to pay our own way.

Hey Deseret News, how about some investigative journalism?

I suppose we are all supposed to pay for this for them as well as all the other things we now pay to provide them? Why don't we bring in the rest of Mexico that haven't made it here yet as well? And by all means lets provide whatever they need even if American kids go wanting, we wouldn't want to be politically incorrect, that would be unbearable.

I don't understand one thing. This article is not about paying for illegal aliens. Nowhere in the article did it even mention that? I think it was to focuse on making sure parents of latino descent learn to teach their kids how to take care of their teeth. NOt an argument about immigration.

Relax all you guys. And for you justducky, a hospital won't turn anyone away. Often hospitals write off TONS of unpaid debt to white people who cannot pay.

I am white and can not afford the Prices the Dentist charges, I also noticed there was to many workers and no Patients in the Facility.

I know a disabled man with two teeth in his mouth. He also has several bits of root chips from three broken caps.

Sadly he's not Hispanic, and Utah's medicaid could care less about him.
