Good for him!!! Go get em, Ah You!!! I'll be cheering you on!
Good for him! I hope he has a great season.
The Utes like to hire ex-Cougars also.....
Interesting that cewgars seem so ready to jump ship and not look back once they realize what they're stuck in at provo
It's interesting that Chris B does no homework at all before making his comments. Otherwise, he'd realize that BYU has a smaller than average number of players who "jump ship" compared to all college teams in general. In fact, the Cougars consistently have more players trying to come into their program from other schools than leaving to go out to other schools... including the best QB USU has had in over a decade, who may soon be starting at BYU. So much for being "stuck in Provo".
Interesting how Cougar fans showed class in wishing Ah You luck, while Ute fan Chris B behaved like a typical Ute fan. Well done.
It's clear why he left BYU. Look at the pics....
He didn't have a beard card at BYU and likes the facial hair look.
Seriously - I wish him lots of success and hope USU can have a winning season again soon.
I wish him all the best luck at USU. Sure I wish he would have played at BYU, but you have to do whats best for you. Good Luck
There's something else here. Ah You says he has "no regrets" for leaving, yet doesn't want to explain why-- "too many reasons why". What's missing? As I recall, he had a Freshman Honor Code issue at the Y. Yes, he serves a mission 2 years later, but then he surprisingly transfers entering a senior year he'd likely be starting. Hmmmmm.
Good luck to you and your USU team Matt.
To So. Cal Reader.... Insinuations like this are just ugly. As I recall, at the time he said he wanted a guarantee that he would start and the coaches could not promise him that and so he transfered.
Good luck Matt with USU and please try to spread positive understandings about BYU while you are up there. I can't stand the anti-BYU sentiment I often hear.
I didn't think I would ever say this, as I am the biggest Aggie fan of all-time but the anti-BYU sentiment is getting old. Its time to stand up as a program and accept responsibility for our failures.

Funny I wouldn't consider somebody who won one game by one point all season the "best quarterback USU has had in a decade." Riley Nelson was nothing more than a run first quarterback that quite frankly, isn't that good at running. Borel is faster, and more talented than Riley ever was. I watched every home game Riley ever played at USU, and all I can say is that he was a small improvement over Cox, and about on par with Leon Jackson III.
But don't take my word for it, you will get to see just how "awesome" Riley Nelson really is very soon.
So. Cal Reader
Give it a rest. No one wants to hear Honour Code accusations 2 years after the fact. He is a geed kid, we all hope that he has a wonderful season.

I am also excited to watch Borel play this year. It is interesting to review the quarterbacks on BYU's schedule this year. They go against some very talented athletes.
