Wouldn't Chicago be surprised of gun violence actually dropped if citizens were armed also? It's very surprising how gun violence and armed citizens are a gun violence deterrent. There is enough evidence in many cities in the nation where there is a direct correlation where armed citizens and violent crimes are much less. The city of Chicago's argument has no valid merit. As crime goes down the city can downsize its police departments.
Chicago is grossly violating the right to bear arms and when and where they can be used or stored. They are creating their own violence problems and need an attitude adjustment. Citizens are more responsible and smarter than the city is giving them credit for. They want to keep Chicago as it was, where only violent criminals and police who don't care about rights and personal defense are armed.
