The question is this: if all kinds of businesses are deciding whether or not to move to the state or stay in the state, then why favor Hollywood? Do we honestly think that its economic impact is greater than other industries? Projects that bring in temporary jobs?

If having more economic activity in Utah is good for Utah, which it is, then why not lower taxes for all businesses? If giving an incentive to a filmmaker produces all kinds of increases in economic activity and state tax revenue -- far beyond the incentive we pay them -- then why not decrease taxes for all businesses?

This film program sounds like a load of preferential treatment while all the other worthwhile businesses are left out in the cold.
