get it built, soccer is the up and coming sport in Utah and America....just check w Davis County the Soccer capital of our great state. More soccer championships have come out of that county than all the rest combined. Check it, it's in the record books...Bountiful HS, WX, and Davis!

This project is ludicrous - and quickly approaching asinine. There was a totally different economy in 2003 when the voters approved the thing. The city can't meet it's current financial obligations, but it is still going forward with this? What are they thinking? This would be like me deciding that in seven years, I am going to take out a loan to buy an expensive car, and then, seven years later, to go ahead an buy that car, even though during that seven years, I lost my job, they are shutting off my water, and I can't buy food to put on the table. Isaiah had it right: "As for my people, children are their oppressors, and women rule over them. O, my people, they which lead thee cause thee to err, and destroy the way of thy paths."

Where did this Jeff Salt guy crawl out of? Let's analyze what he's saying...

"This is a boondoggle project that is going to be another subsidy for Real Salt Lake"

Um, how is this project a boondoggle for RSL? They don't get to use the fields but they're paying $7.5 million towards them anyway. They won't realize any revenue from the fields, so how is this a boondoggle?

"We're losing the last public open space on the Jordan River."

I live by the Jordan River around 7200 S. There's five miles of public open space upstream and downstream from my house.

"It's doubled in cost"

That's your fault. You've had this thing tied up in court for 7 years, during which time construction costs have gone way up. Funny how you blame the city for this.

"it's been narrowed in scope by one-half"

Again, your fault by forcing settlements in court which restrict the available acreage each time. And yet again, you lie to the public by saying this is the city's fault.

Man, this guy is a serious piece of work.

I support most environmental preservation, but I don't trust environment groups anymore. Save open space at all costs is too closed-minded.

This project is a misuse of our tax dollars.
