Wow, now if that just doesn't put you to sleep you have to be on a caffeine drip.

The reason that the TEs only grabbed one TD pass last year was because the opposing teams took the option away and Kyle knew it to be a weak option.... The only reason I can think of as to why it worked against Cal was because it was an inferior team from an inferior conference.

cimsonutah

Inaccurate statement Poyman. Utah, up to this point, has not run plays specifically for their TEs. Mostly in for run blocking.

WestCoast1

Weak attempt, poyman, at a dig on the Utes. Can't you come up with something better than that? Maybe you should go read the exciting article on Di Luigi and his workout schedule.

For the record, the Utes are in the Pac 10/12, and BYU/BSU are still in the MWC.

A week ago you were saying that Utah will be in the middle of the PAC now you are saying that the PAC is inferior and that Utah beat Cal by changing the role of the TEs. How lame is that??

Based on your own comment, you clearly acknowledge Coach Witt knows how to make adjustments in preparation for games. I agree...Coach Whitt is phenomenal in game prep.

From what I'm reading and hearing...tds has some serious problems that haven't been worked out by the coaches. Maybe you should send in some suggestions to help them.

Inferior Conference? When Washington comes into Provo and beats BYU and Oregon State beats TCU what are you going to say? If the PAC 10 is so inferior why do the Alamo, Holiday, and Sun bowls affiliate with PAC 10 teams rather than the MWC?

EdGrady

Who knows, by the end of the season, the "u" may actually learn how to cover a tight end.

Muss Man

Inferior conference, Poyman? BYU's overall record against the PAC-10 is 28-55-1.

We'll see how "inferior" the Huskies are when they dominate at LES on September 4th.

bgl

Actually Poyman--it worked against an inferior team from---The Conference of Champions. Ahhhhhhh I love the sound of that. I'm gunna say it again---The Conference--pause pause-----wait for it----of Champions.
(sigh....)

Coach Biff

I think Utah needs production from their TE's. A good TE is a young QB's best friend.

SoCalUte

@ poyman........your football IQ is obviously not what you think it is.
Here is a reality check for you. 4 great running backs, 8+ good receivers, Now we have 4 really good TE's, = If you utilize all of them wisely, you end up with an offense that no defense can cover. Are you starting to get the picture? Or do you need to go back to your caffeine drip?

davidutefan

It would nice if the zoobs would make up their minds. Is it an inferior conference, mean ing the Utes will do well or, a power conference that Utah will finish in the middle of the pack every year? Please let me Know. All you football experts in Provo need to let us know. Your input is sooooo valued. Are the TDS articles really that slow that they have nothing better to do than troll? When are you changing your colors fom blue to green to match your envy.

superute

This offense is going to be VERY GOOD!!

A working knowledge of how each position can be utilized on the field is something I'm working on so admittedly, my football IQ is improving but isn't great. I largely rely on these posts to give me a reference point of where the Utes are in their development.

I sure like what I'm seeing in the two posts referenced above. I know Utah has great athletes and an extremely talented coaching staff. It's going to be a fun season.

davidutefan - you nailed it!

I can't win -- I decided to read an article about the Utes so I wouldn't have to read about BYU, but half the comments are about the Y, and they're all from Ute fans! Let it go already. A year from now it's not really going to matter, is it?

Old Gregg

Wow poyman,

That was a pretty lame comment. I usually don't get on here very often, especially a Utah article but I was reading some comments on the BYU board and it was filled with Utah Trolls. I decided to get on the Utah comment boards and see if there were any BYU trolls. To my surprise the first comment was a BYU troll. Very disappointed in you poyman. Although there are way less BYU troll than Utah trolls, it's still very embarrassing so thanks a lot poyman. Plus, your comment was weak and lame.

TO: davidutefan and all those who responded to "poyman"

There has been really only ONE kewg post on here (all be it, the first). He got all the ewtes dander up!!! My goodness guys, go back and read all the responses. Toward the 5th or 6th comment, you are sound like every BYU fan was coming down on you.

Are we getting a little defensive or what?

Chris B

Seems we're pretty solid all around. I think it will be a great final year in the mwc. I think pitt is overrated and we'll handle them. I think tcu will be great again, but with the game at RES I look for us to pull out a close one(like the last time they came to RES)

Can't wait - go utes!

VegasUte

EdGrady: As a lifelong Ute fan, I must say that that was funny. Kudos on that one!

Go Utes!!

Co Crimson!!

VegasUte

It will be very interesting and fun to see how Whitt puts the team together this year and utilizes the different packages. I DO NOT think that Pitt is overrated. Pitt is a good team with some outstanding players. That being said, we should still be able to handle them, especially at RES. That win will vault us up in the rankings.

Have my tics to the Pitt game!!

Go UTES!!

hedgehog

Wannstedt is a below average coach. Pitt will (as usual) underperform at the RES. The toughest game on the Utes schedule is Notre Dame. After pulling out an emotional victory over TCU — the Utes will need to travel to South Bend and face an Irish team that will have two weeks to prepare.
