In Australia, knee and hip replacements are FREE to all citizens regardless of income. My wife recently had a hip replacement with full hospital care and all medications-FREE
Gooo-Obamacare!!!
Sorry BroJoseph, NOTHING is free! You can pay for it now or you can pay for it later, but it's not free.
There are very few things in life that are free and none of them have anything remotely to do with government programs. When will some of you understand this.
A Swedish couple was living was living in Montana. I noticed their accent and having lived in Denmark inquired why they were living in Montana rather than Sweden. They said higher standard of living. They said their effective tax rate in Sweden was along the lines of 70 percent. But mind you they have FREE health care.
Please-- let's live in the real world. Somebody that has a tag name of BroJoseph makes me suspicious right off-- and I am an acitive LDS person.
My grandmother had one good knee and one bad knee. Because she was Canadian the surgery cost her nothing. That's right totally free! They replaced the wrong knee and then she said she had two bad knees but it didn't cost her a penny.
I am wondering if on Saturday's show they will actually address real issues on this topic or if it will be another advertisement for Dr.s who want to do more and more replacements?
My husband's hip went bad when he was in his early 40's. By mid-40's he was almost crippled with pain. We looked into a replacement, and learned about "resurfacing" which is much less catastrophic (they put a new surface on the ball of the joint and put a surface in the socket part too - no cutting off of the leg bone) and there are virtually no activity restrictions and very quick recovery.
The Dr. we visited here in Utah to inquire about it (the "best" hip Dr. in the area from many accounts) actually stood up and said he wouldn't waste his time talking to us about it and walked out and closed the door.
We traveled to South Carolina to have the procedure done and they explained that Dr.'s already know how to do replacements and make tons of money doing them so they won't switch. SAD and WRONG.
Hope this helps someone.
