I'm pretty sure his arm span isn't 8' 11' but rather 6'11", otherwise his arms would hang down below his knees. Most people's arm span is roughly the same as their height having an extra 5 inches is a little bit more in the realm of realism than 2 feet 5 inches.
GJ: Read the article again. It does not refer to "arm span" but rather to reaching height. He is 6'6" and can reach to a height of 8'11". I am 5'11" and can reach to a height of 8'. His reach, comparatively, is incredible but is still second to another professional VB player. Good article -- great to hear how members are doing!
