This is great and I know that refugees are different than illegal immigrants, but why, oh WHY, can't people who come to this country remember where they are? We, as a nation ARE diversified, but must we continue to focus on all the native countries that contribute to this nation? Must we continue to identify our differences and hold to them? Being late for anything in THIS country is not a custom that is going to help anyone to succeed, regardless of its origins. Come here and try to assimilate, please, please, please. Stop creating organizations to keep us all apart.

"The trick, always, for both refugees and immigrants, is to fit in but also to retain the culture left behind, to succeed but to also remember what it feels like to struggle."
This comment is brilliant! Cathy Tshilombo has very eloquently and succinctly summed up the point of immigrating here. Fit in but retain your culture. Succeed but never forget where you came from in the process.

I wasn't aware that there are so many africans in Utah, but I think it's great because they will add to the diversity of our great state. One of my sons went to So. Africa on his mission, so I am very fond of of Africans and their culture. Good luck to United Africans of Utah, and God bless you all.
