There are two things I find totally hypnotic: fire and babies. I've wondered countless times why it is so enthralling to watch a baby do anything. Sleep, roll, breathe, kick, wiggle their toes, stuff their fist in their mouth and then look at you like, "why did you let me do this?" Ann, your lists are perfect!
Yes, all of that. Babies are the best miracles, ever. And their smell, and their weight on your shoulder, and their soft skin, and they have exactly the right amount of fingers and toes and let's count and recount and touch those perfect little digits.
Love this, Ann, and love your beautiful grandbaby.
I used to have a baby who would pat ME on the back when I held him over my shoulder. That was the best thing ever. Now he's a great big orange-headed teenager who still loves hugs.
