Man being 10 minutes from Downtown SLC, I would never pay to them losers play, Unless of course it was the Lakers!!!!
@Johnson72: Then why don't you move back to LA. You wont be missed here.Trollers never are..
In other words, expect to get gouged if you want to see the Lakers, Heat, etc., but you will get a good deal to see the Clippers on a snowy Tuesday night. You can't even watch games on TV without cable, and the radio signal from KFAN is pathetic, and even if you can get the radio, you have to listen to Locke, which is like nails on a chalkboard. Go ahead Miller family. Keep alienating your fans, and see how much money you make.
I have a better idea. Simply put all the tickets not already purchased at predetermined season or lesser number of game packages in the computer and let people bid on them. The new Jazz plan is simply price gouging. Why don't you say we are in the concert business and are charging a premium price for the bigger names in the sport? The other thing....there are many games when headline players on the so-called elite teams are unavailable to play. So is the plan to offer rebates if these players fail to play due to injury, both real and imaginary? If we are going to the airline method of acquiring tickets, why can't the tickets be available on the computer and we be allowed to shop for them early or late, whatever the circumstances?
I think its at least worth a try; i have no problem with them charging extra for a game that will still sell out. thats just business. why charge someone $10 for a ticket when they'll pay $20 just the same? it happens all the time.
And i'm sorry but i'm getting sick of people complaining about the games only being on basic cable and AM RADIO. it's 2010, if you dont have basic cable or a dish to watch the games that's your problem, not the Jazz's.
This is a good idea, certainly worth implmenting at least until the ticket brokers start paying some of the Jazz expenses.
The Jazz, Rockets and Hawks are running a business. As much as it is entertainment, it is also a money making business. It's called supply and demand. If the demand is higher, prices are higher. Nothing wrong with that. The airline industry does it as mentioned. Demand is higher in the summer months, the prices go up in the summer months.
It's a good concept because you can get a steal of a deal on days when the arenas aren't filled. And this concept only applies to a few sections in each arena, not the entire place. Not price gouging, just smart business. Every team in baseball does it.
I wouldn't pay a penny for those upper bowl seats. Might as well watch at home or a sports bar. The Lower bowl is the only way to watch the Jazz live. Now to sit in the lower bowl, you will pay a lot more, but it is worth every penny to cheer for my team and feel like im in the game. GO JAZZ!!
The games would be very much more enjoyable say if KOC got TMac to play for the Jazz. He is going to go for 1.3 million which the Jazz can afford. He would be another outside offensive threat which would mean the defenses won't be able to double team Deron.
TMac is only 31 so he would still have another year or two in the tank and the man can still put up numbers, and he plays defense. Gaines and Jeffers are up and coming but when the first string sits it would be nice to have experience step in and at the current price TMac is a bargain,
NO Tracey McGrady. Thats like saying bring in AI too. TMac is washed up. Let Detroit have him. Focus on the youth movement Doug10. The Jazz can address the need of a Wing next year when AK is off the books and we get to see if Hayward is any good first. Why take minutes away from the up and comers? The reason the Bulls didnt sign TMac is b/c he thought he could be a starter still, and all he would do is Jack up shots every time on floor. PASS ON TMAC!
I agree, TMac is a locker room disease. Look how hard he tried to join the bulls for pennies and they STILL wouldn't take him. They know better and so does Jazz mgmt. He signed with the Pistons; apparently they didn't learn from the AI experiment.
