This is an honor that is well deserved.

Congratulations to the members of the Choir, Musical directors, organists, musicians & leaders. This is an honor shared by many thousands of choir members who have dedicated a great part of their lives in service currently and in the past. Through Radio, Television and concerts throughout the world they have been the ambassadors of love and inspiration to millions.

Congratulations again, Bravo!!!!

Their CDs and their "Music and the Spoken Word" performances have been hugely inspirational to me through the years.

This was most definitely well deserved.

I think this award is well deserved. MO tab has been a blessing in my life; joined the church at 18 and had to finish my senior year of high school in another state. I listened to them at midnight my time on Sunday and they helped me make it through the year till I moved to UT . Was only member inmy hometown and family didn't understand me.

Congratulations MTC. Every morning for years I've listened at 7:30 a.m. before church and if I oversleep I'm miffed for missing any part of the broadcast. I love my CD's. I did my part by sending the voting info to my address book. You are truly America's beloved choir.

Congratulations to my favorite musical group. I'm so glad that I cast my vote.

NOBODY deserves this honor more. Congratulations to you. I concur with the opinions expressed here: You are my favorite music group. My iPod is loaded with MoTab.

Molly Farmer,

There's a word left out of your version of this story. The word is "Network". Music and the Spoken Word is the longest running "Network" radio broadcast
in America. Without the word "Network" it implies
it's the oldest program period.

Music and Spoken Word begins in 1929.

Grand Ole Opry from WSM Nashville begins in 1925.
Simple math says that the Grand Ole Opry is 4 years
older. Both programs have been continous....

Music and the Spoken Word started off on the NBC Radio Network with KSL and moved to CBS Radio Network in the early 1930's when KSL changed networks, AND it is still there on CBS Radio.

Grand Ole Opry started on WSM only. Over the years it was on Network radio, but that didn't continue over the years.

Both programs also made it to TV over the years.

Ralph Emery, who also just won a Radio Hall of Fame award, worked at WSM in Nashville and really knows Broadcast and Country Music history. He would be a great source of information for this historical
record.
