My 4 tomato plants are 5 feet tall and we have been eating home grown tomatoes for 3 months. I thought I was doing great.
I guess not!

Store varities of many vegetables and fruits have had the soul taken out of them. Old varities are indeed better.

Buy from a local farmer or grow a garden or both.

Dale Allred is the real deal. You can't help but feel his passion for real food when you talk to him. His tomatoes are unlike any other. I was overjoyed to see him at the SLC farmer's market on Saturday.

Great to see this farmer doing well. But I think there is a little short-sightedness thinking we've been "hoodwinked" with the other tomatoes we have. I taste both, and love both. The marvels of modern technology and agriculture have allowed us to ship products and be able to enjoy fresh produce year-round, when climate would prove otherwise.

It's because of this fact that we don't have to take vitamin supplements anymore. Let's praise all produce.
