Hey let's go rally about the law that was blocked?
It would have made more sense to rally in the State where the law applies, but what the heck. I think we ought to really give these 200 something to protest against - a Utah version of the law.
They protest to get media attention, and it works.
It would be much easier if our government enforced the laws, so they followed it. You want to deter illegal immigration? Use enforcement. Nothing else will work.
Large Crowd is a funny way of describing less than one in 10,000 people in the State. This large of a crowd would be failure at a Jazz game, a Ute football game or even a free concert. It was a small crowd.
Come on!
Am I missing something here? Arizona is trying to defend themselves. Many people (children) were kidnapped for drug money. Ranchers living near the border were killed. Gang type crimes have occurred, and we have a president making it a racial issue against the innocent. The answer for both Mexico and the United States is simple. Replace corrupt political leaders with honest ones who will work for the people. The needs of the many out weighs the greed of the few.
Whether these people are legal or not, they have no regard whatsoever for America nor respect for its laws or sovereignty.
Isn't it illegal for foreign nationals to demonstrate against the american people in our own country? This is organized foreign nationals who have no right to demonstrate against our country. They are trying to steal our rights as well as our identities and lives.
Where is the Sheriff in defending his country and break up this riot? Or is he an undocumented illegal alien? Is this the king of law and order he backs? When are our state and law enforcement leaders going to get the message, they don't want to be Americans, they want our country and our money.
It's no longer a battle of immigration, it's open occupation by foreign nationals demanding our country be returned to the government of Mexico.
High five worf it seems that our federal government and those protesting the law are saying illegal is good legal is wrong. Those that stand in line and get into this country legally are out of their minds. Well I for one am proud that my grandparents were out of their minds and waited their turn.
Utah legislators need to carefully study Mexican immigration law, and then pass a Utah law that is very similar. This should help to make most of the immmigrants feel right at home.
What the protesters need to realize and understand is the items in SB 1070 that Judge Bolton let stand.
1. Arizona's prohibition on local officials interfering with the enforcement of federal immigration law.
2. The ability of ordinary citizens to bring suit for violations of that prohibition.
That means "Sanctuary" cities are out.
That means a Utah law with just those two items would be expected to pass federal review. Local citizens could sue Salt Lake City for not enforcing federal law. Chief Burbank could be sued for not handing over illegal immigrants booked into the SLC Jail to ICE.
Given the Soviet oppression of their people, anyone who laments the fall of the Soviets is a right wing wacko.
You are complaining about the Utah legislature because they might enforce a law that was passed by congress. Congress limits the number of immigrants coming from Mexico. It is their laws that have created illegal immigrants. Arizona is only wanting to enforce the laws.
Why not complain about the Obama and the US congress being racist?
Is it because you have this misconception that democrat = liberal / compassionate / not racist?
(Did you know that Ted Kennedy tried to increase the number of (white) Irish immigrants above the normal quota?)
Some of the things being said by angry people is getting a little scary. If vigilantes start taking the law into their own hands because they've lost faith in the system, how liberal will that be?
Tekakaromatagi
Someone asked me, "How do we know if demonstrators are American Citizens?"
Does anyone know the answer to that question?
Illegal immigrants move here from someplace else that they didn’t like because of the laws, conditions, etc. and then protest the very laws that help make our country desirable in the first place. Legal immigrants understand that our laws make our country, which is why they are willing to obey them and become citizens. Illegal immigrants do not become citizens. They bring their own culture and habits unchanged from their home country. Eventually, their new home becomes as bad as their old home, because nothing has changed except location. This is what is happening in Arizona and this is why Arizona passed their law.
DEPORT DEPORT DEPORT.....OBAMA
Deport all illeglas now UTAHNS...
Report illegals to ICE!
Arizona needs to keep the course. It is still illegal to be in the United State illegally, so keep rounding them up and sending them back to Mexico! Give it a few months, and the Supreme Court will get this whole mess straightened out.
Did any of you see the Mexican flag that was being waved in Arizona yesterday supporting the decision to temporarily block Arizona's law?
An absolute disgrace!
Serious Question: Is there any way that "We the People..." can sue the government or the Obama administration for not protecting the boarders?
We should move the White House to Yuma, Az. Then the attitude in Washington would change.
Ain't it great to live in a country with no borders and no laws? Can anyone else see that our country has been taken over by total leftist radicals. Radicals that want to have some sort of new world order, with no borders and no civil order. Do what feels good and no need to work bcause the compassionate government will take care of your every need.
?habla espanol? many of signs are in spanish. That goes over really well in a formerly english speaking country.
Sheriff Joe Arpaio should be brought in to arrest the illegal among them. Then he should be promoted to Homeland Security Director. Jan Brewer for president. Uphold the law.
Well la te da, aren't they special.
"Large crowd" the title says. Hahahahaha.
