Nice to hear this from one of "them". He shows class and a knowledge of the game.

I think the U will consistantly be better than Arizona, Arizona State and Colorado but after that it will vary from year to year. I think some of the U's best teams over the past 10 years would have challenged USC for the PAC 10 title.

From a TDS fan: Agree a great fit; however, PAC 12 in for a great surprise. The Utes have great timeing and speed.

TAGZZ

Once again it is great to be alive in America and great to be a Ute!!

Big_Ben

I wonder if Lane Kiffin realizes that Colorado is coming too, and so the pac-10 already has its 12th team. I dont blame him, hes got a lot to worry about.

Good to hear our new conference rivals show us the respect we deserve. We certainly respect them. I think you'll see Utah immediately compete in the league. No more "bye weeks" with the bottom of the conference, a tough game each week.

RealityCheck

This is great... I was really impressed with what these coaches had to say, especially Mike Riley. Can't wait for the Utes to hit the ground running in the PAC-12.

Nice to hear the class coming from these coaches. Everything Sarkisian said was dead on.

Go Utes!!

GoUtah

Does anybody remember Sarkisian's promise to beat Utah his first year as QB for the tds. Once again, never make a promise like that!

Big Rock

It's funny how none of the current coaches mentioned BYU being left out. The team down south is irrelevent already.

"I wonder if Lane Kiffin realizes that Colorado is coming too..."

-------------

Lane Kiffin knows CU is joining the Pac 12, he just also knows that they are expected to join in 2012 instead of 2011 (like Utah). That is why he said, "That will be the 11th team and we'll get to 12 and we'll be able to have a championship game, hopefully."

First, the PAC gets to 11 teams with Utah in 2011, then they get to 12 teams in 2012 with CU. Kiffin said they will "hopefully" get a championship game because there hasn't been any official declaration that a PAC 12 championship game will exist. But, everyone knows there will be one.

Great coverage of the Utes Dirk.

Love to see the Coaches chime in on the addition of Utah. They know they will have a new challenge as will Utah each and every week. Looking forward to it following a great final year in the MWC.

I would also point out that these are some pretty good coaches showing a ton of love for Kyle which is well deserved. He has been a huge part of bulding Utah to this point as an assistant to Meyer and Mcbride, and now on his own and it appears to have not gone without notice nationally.

Thlete

It's been reported that CU will "most likely" join the PAC-12 in 2011. Neither the Big TeX nor PAC-12 want to have a full year of each conference stuck at 11, so they'll work it out.

Magna Ute Fan

Wow, that's pretty sweet. Great respect being given to the Utes.

I can't wait for football season!

Great comments. Thanks for the story.

Another story that will hopefully make it into the D-News:

The last of the Utah NFL Draftees has inked his signature on a multi-year, multi-million dollar contract. Koa Misi was the last of the 6 draftees to sign with his respective team, the Miami Dolphins, for 4.8 million and 4 years. he joins Zane Beadles, who also has a 4 yr contract for over $4 million, Robert Johnson, Stevenson Sylvester, David Reed and RJ Stanford.
As there are lots of zoobs poking their noses into these stories about the Utes, they should be proud to know their lone draft pick, Dennis Pitta signed his 3 year contract last month for 1.3 million.

Some of the numbers may be mixed as to which have signing bonuses and don't as the sources are not entirely clear, but Pitta did receive an undisclosed signing bonus to add on to the salary.

GO UTES!!!

moodyblue77

And someone was going to say that adding the Utes made at last one game during the season easier? That this is just a wannabe team with no real experience?

Give us all a break.

Howard S.

The DN hasn't published this many positive comments about the Utes since.... since.... well.... since ever.

casual observer

What did you expect the other coaches to say? Don't get too excited. They're all just press stories without substance.

It is you who is irrelevant.

Moodyzoob77: Somebody need a hug? Or, better yet, a reality check?

Yet another whYning zoob on a UTE blog. Too funny.

Go Utes! Buh-bYe bitter zoobs!

Rational

Good luck Utes. It is good to be in a BCS league, but it is better to have a great coach. They will compete for the title because of Whitt. Quality school and great AD help get them in the conference, the coach is what ultimately determines consistent success.

Two former Cougars from the LaVell Edwards coaching tree as head coaches in the Pac-10 to add to a Super Bowl winning coach, a two-time NFL coach of the year, multiple other D-1 head coaches.
