Sounds like it's set up for people to come tell him what a great job he's doing, not to actually listen to anyone's concerns.

but then, how can anyone have any concerns? BO and his cabinet are here to take care of us.

You mean like the gas exploration leases that were signed today? You're right, great job.

Ditto, that, and how can the federal government help us even more... how about turning over most federal lands back to their respective states, and letting the states control them? The federal government controls about 70% of Utah land. I'm sure the people here can adequately decide for themselves how to best preserve, use and manage those lands at least as well.

utah guy,

did you read the article or just my post?

He came to listen to others how they agree with him and his ilk on conservation. That may be well and good, but it does nothing to address the concerns caused by BO's anti natural resources position.

This is where ken is going to come and listen to how we want OUR public lands managed. But Ken and Obama have already decided how they will be managed by paying back environmentalist from campaign promises and they are just going through the steps so that they can make there great outdoor initiative law Which is a fancy word for wilderness, which is a fancy word for taking our public land and stopping access. They listening sessions so far have been the public at the sessions listening to them.

Oh Please

Welcome, Mr. Salazar, you are about to enjoy the opportunity of listening to the most selfish, semi-educated rubes on the entire planet, if not the solar system. These people will not be happy until all of Utah looks like Beck Street.

Why don't you all just attend the meeting and voice your concerns? After that you can complain about the meeting all you want, if you feel you weren't heard.

If everyone would stop jumping into the rhetorical ring and listen we might actually address some serious problems we all face. I don't recall any "listening" time from 2001-2009. Maybe we ought to participate by listening and really thinking about what the real problems we face, like unemployment, health care, education and leadership. Change doesn't come easy, but if we think of how we would treat others as we would want them to treat us, we might make great progress.

Listening is great!

Actually paying attention to what is said is even more important.

Then, actually acting intelligently on what has been said is truly wonderful in a good leader.

Two out of three will not happen.

This is just window dressing as they continue the war against the west. Probably trying to cover their butts to get "cap and trade" jammed through during the lame duck session after the November elections.
