I can't wait to celebrate another blowout of TDS in RES... just like in 04 and 08, on our way to BCS bowls (something TDS will never experience). Except this time we'll be on our way to the PAC 12.
Have fun in Laramie and Albuquerque zoobs, while we're playing in Seattle, LA, and San Fran area.
Re: jazz7
Looks like you'll be waiting a long time.
I think Utah could be due for a few blowouts this year. Don't expect the MWC to want to give the Utes a friendly send off to an AQ conference.
And losing jazz7. How about 5-7 first year In pac12
Zane Taylor is a stud, have you seen the arms on that dude? I love it when the Utes are underrated and can fly under the radar, that is when they roll to BCS greatness! Coach Whitt will have this group cranking away on Sept 2nd for sure! It could be a huge year for the Utes in their MWC farewell tour. Go ahead and under estimate us, say our defense is breaking in a bunch of new guys, and they will struggle. I know this as a fact, when Whitt can preach an us against them mentality to his team, great results are achieved. GREATNESS awaits again this year, listen, and you can hear it in the wind! Go Utes!
That's good that the players are really trying to just stay focused on the season at hand and not look forward to being a contender in a very weak PAC-12. Though by the end of the season I'm sure they won't have as much patience to get out of the MWC after they win only 3 conference games and get slaughtered at home by TCU and BYU.
Brandon Burton will play in the NFL - mark my words.
FYI:
Jeffrey Lark - stud, 6’3 220 4.5 (inside linebacker from Dallas) is expected to commit to the Utes as early as tomorrow. He current has offers from Arkansas, LSU and Oregon. Lark was quoted “ Utah going to the PAC is a huge factor in my interest”
Iowa State will be no cake walk this year. They had a winning season last year with a bowl win and their team knows they can play Nebraska. That team is on the rise. Pitt has a guy named Dion Lewis who, as a freshman last year, rushed for 1800 yards. Yeah, that's talent no one in Utah has seen in a long time. He's shifty and hard to tackle. Pitt went 10-3 last year and will one of the favored to win the conference.

As much as I trust in Kyle, and as good of a job as he has done the last 2 seasons focusing his team on the job at hand, this will be his toughest task yet. Keeping the team focused each week. It will be difficult, especially for the non-seniors, but Kyle will be up for the challenge.
Can't wait for Sept. 2nd
Striker, in all of the preseason rankings Iowa St. is in the 70's and 80's. I think that puts them on par with CSU. Hardly a game to fear. If Utah's head is in the game, they should win.
This schedule is going to be the toughest in recent memory. I am confident we will be successful. I think that Matt Asiata will be very effective with Eddie Wide and Shak by his side, very similar to 08. The defense is going to have to grow up fast. Though lacking in experience, the talent and athleticism is there. And since games are won in the trenches, we will be just fine. Our O-line is just as good as anyone in the conference, and deeper. Our D-line has ten guys who deserve playing time. Cant wait.
Striker, we faced a runner like Dion Lewis in Jaquizz Rodgers from Oregon State in 2008 and he ran all over us (but we won-barely). With a new Pitt QB, I'm sure we'll be seeing a ton of Lewis, but if we can stack the box and they can't throw the ball, I think the Utes beat Pitt on our home field.
Re: Striker
Yes they won 2 of their 6 regular season wins against FBS teams another against Army who should be an FBS team. Their only good win last year was against Nebraska.
Growing up as a BYU fan, I still root for them. I graduated from USU so I root for them. I have always liked the Utes and root for them except when they face my other teams. GO UTES and win all your games out of conference to show all others how well the MWC stands against all other leagues. The more we can beat teams from the other conferences, makes it better for us all.
Cougar claws, did the mwc want friendly games in 04 and 08 with utah? Silly zoobs.
Re: Chris B
Your comparisons of this year's Utah team to 04 and 08 are unsubstantiated and ridiculous.
Cougar claws
The Quest for Perfection was unsubstantiated and ridiculous too. Silly little Zoob.
Not worried about the defense, it will be solid just like every other year. Any time there is supposed to be a weakness they come out stronger than anyone predicted and with a solid LB in JJ and two solid DBs in JTR and Burton they will be fine. Remind me what happened the last time Whit put a QB on the defense?
What makes Utah a GREAT team is when the offense is solid and now that you have Wynn and A-Rod with an off season to prepare and two GREAT RBs and a strong O-line, plus TEs I think you could see another '04 or '08 team. Question is how good is TCU and does Utah come out for payback like they did last year? When the last time the Utes lost at home and we have our toughest games there, no that doesn't include tds, they will be a push over!
So zoobie claws, why don't you go worry about ALL the holes you need to fill down in your little town and leave us BCS boys to the big games!
