I see that even our elected officials have constantly refused their responsibliity to reform immigration in the US Congress and they sure did not push it at the state level until now. Why do we even have them in those positions in Washington? These Republicans will willingly start wars, ruin our shores hurt many families for their personal fun and put the US indebt close to bankruptcy, but will nor do any thing to help Americans. Russia and China should be most proud of Republicans acomplishments. They are not Commies but just act like them.

Okaythen

Why is this news? Their response, as with the response of 99% of politicans these days, is predictable to the point of being a non-issue.

Glad to see that there are some American minded legislators still in Washington. But why you have and egotistical illegal in power its makes America an insecure nation.

States are mandated by federal and constitutional laws that they can and must protect themselves and their territory from foreign invasion and occupation. During the WW2 every coastal state had border patrols and weapons to stop any invasion by foreign nations. Arizona and all states have this same right, its not immigration they are fighting, it foreign invasion and occupation they are fighting.

Foreign occupation and invasion, forced entry, are not immigration, its lack of self defense the states are being denied. This is also why we have National Guards in all the states, they are state controlled armies and our designated militia for such case of invasion and occupation forces.

Federal law cannot prohibit states to activate the National Guard in such emergency matters. The National Guard can only be activated by federal government in a declared war. Arizona and many other states are under an oppressive and economic attack by foreign powers, Calderon, and we have a right to protect ourselves.

Of course the oppose it. The are part of the crowd that is saying no to immigration reform legislation, now being held up by the Republicans in Washington. They don't want to solve problems, they only want to tear down the party in power. But they offer no ideas, no solutions, no nothing.

Esquire is drinking deeply of the Democratic kool aid. Republicans have tried, for YEARS, to get immigration reform through Congress -- including enforcing the border. It's been the liberals, secular-progressives and Clinton-Obama operatives who have consistently opposed those efforts. The Clinton years were marked by massive NON_ENFORCEMENT of our nation's immigration laws. We're all paying the piper now. Enforce the border! Hey, there's an Idea. And it comes from Republicans!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
