Hi my name is KOC.

How do you like me now?
How do you like me now?

randal

I like it if it's true. I just hope we can manage to keep Matthews somehow.

Excellent move!

Hellooo

If this happens the Jazz really need to find a defensive stopper as Jefferson makes CB look like an all defensive first team player.

Jazz-Nation

OH YEAH!!!WELCOME AJ WITH OPEN ARMS!!MEMO, AJ, AK, DWILL, length, power, defense, scoring, all we need is Shannon Brown at shooting Guard, and bring in Barnes, and we can beat anyone!!!GO JAZZ!!

T-spoon

Oh joy, another Jazz article for Bugoff and toddfromsantaanna to post negative comments.

Here is some proof that the Jazz front office is doing something despite what many commentators are saying on these boards.

A solid replacement for Boozer if it happens, plus a bit of shot blocking to go along with it. I don't think this puts us into championship status, but it helps.

Chuck Nunn

This would be a VERY big acquisition. 17 points and nine boards per game outy of a guy who could play either the 4 or 5 spots. Got my fingers crossed.

mulrich

High risk/reward. It takes a long time to recover from the surgery he had but he could be great.

pocyUte

I love this. Jefferson is younger, bigger and absolutely crushed us last year. If he can play some defense, he will be a significant upgrade from Boozer.

GoodGuyGary

Now those Jazz management haters can have their mouths closed. I am GoodGuyGary and I approve this trade.

RobSing

I would have just rather kept boozer for 15 million that have jefferson for 14 million.

jp3

More prone to injury than Boozer, and that's saying a lot. At least KOC has actually done something, so I'll give credit for that.

utduck

We needed to replace Boozers scoring first and foremost. This trade does that. I still think we will get another big before all is said and done.

sports-junkie

This is awesome!!! Now let Wes walk and bring in Al Harrington and we are instantly BETTER than last year. Go Jazz!!!

@ Hello

im just curious are you saying that Al Jefferson has no defense.. which Al Jefferson are you talking about if so.....

JazzyMan

Ok,I know Al Jefferson killed the Jazz in a couple of games last year in points scored basically with his good post-up game, but why doesn't Minnesota want him? I do remember, though, thinking I wish the Jazz had this guy while watching those games. But I admit,I havn't kept pace with his game as of late?

stanfunky

I've been hoping for this move for weeks! David Locke dismissed it (and me) on his radio show and said Jefferson was a far worse player than Boozer, that since his ACL injury he wasn't anywhere near the same player. Well guess what??? He's ours now, a long, strong, rebounding big that can play the 4 very well, and some 5 if needed. Lineup:

Center - Okur / Fesenko / Millsap
P.Forward - Jefferson / Millsap
S.Forward - Kirilenko / Heyward
P.Guard - Williams / Price
S.Guard - Matthews / Miles / Brewer (????)

If we shore up the 2 guard spot, and get some consistency out of Price or whomever our backup point is, this team can go quite a ways. LA is still a problem with their bigs, but I'd feel better with Al Jefferson against them than Boozer anyday.

Jack Ryan

I like this move. Big Al is a beast inside and has a lot of upside. Plus, he's only 25 yrs old.

I disagree with the earlier comment that AJ will make Boozer look like an all-defensive first-team player. By no means is he a defensive stopper, but he's definitely an upgrade defensively on Boozer, and is a legit 6'10" with a big wingspan. He will clog up the middle and swallow up rebounds.

Big Al nearly averaged 20/10 with the T'Wolves ... imagine what he can do with D-Will feeding him the ball. I like this move.

I also like the idea of looking to Shannon Brown or maybe Roger Mason as well (if we can get them for the MLE).

Utah Jazz fan Chris

Not bad KOC

Goodness I hope this works out. Very much what we need.
