I sincerely hope this kid can help himself and the Jazz soon with his athletic ability. Sometimes ,though, the body rejects putting on weight without depriving it somewhere else. I think the guy just needs to keep on playing the way he basically has been ,and hope he cane get some extra muscle in the offseason in the weight room without losing his agility.

If Evans truly can play like he shows hints of. I don't see the need to bring Brewer back. This guy appears to be the same type of player pretty much.

Sounds like he would be better than Brewer.

At this point, I say give him a shot. He might turn out to be another incredible 2nd round pick.

Let's all hope so. The Jazz need something to right.

If Sloan gushes over him and if he really is similar to Prince then maybe he will work out. If he can shoot the Jazz have 2 new SFs and AK can play PF.

The Jazz need the right C. FesKoufos could be the right C is they developed by magic. I do not believe in magic but Koufos was shooting better as he got more playing time.

The Jazz are planing on playing some type of small ball. It will be very interesting to see how Sloan morphs his flex to do that.

I think they need outside shooting now. Then as they ad or develop the inside bigs they will contend.

You can beat LA by running and with outside shooting BUT you have to have sufficient rebounding.

Let's hope he's another diamond in the rough for the Jazz. I can see next year's team being a lot like the team the year after Stockton and Malone left. They'll be a gritty bunch of overachievers who will fight hard to make the playoffs, but will probably come up a little short. I'll be cheering them on and will be happy as long as they leave it all on the court.

He looks like he can put on weight to me, if he doesn't i don't think he's going to stick in the league, but it looks like he earned himself a shot, he had some nice passes this week, he needs to improve on help defense. His shoulders are pretty wide so I can see him adding a bit of weight and keeping his athleticism.

I liked what I saw the last couple of games but he really needs to be able to shoot and so far he hasn't shown that he can. I'm hoping he works hard these next 2or3 months and comes back confident in his shooting because I like alot of things about him. If he can develop a consistant shot, he will be the ideal 3 man, long, athletic, hard worker, but he needs to be able to shoot from outside enough to keep the defenses honest.

"Sounds like he would be better than Brewer." ANYONE would be better than Brewer. As a long-time (20+ years) Jazz fan, I was very happy when the Jazz traded away Ronnie last year. Ronnie was a nice guy but horribly inconsistent. Hope the Jazz don't bring him back (worse than bringing Ostertag back).

It was hard to get a grip on who was stepping up the way coaching staff was wasting time looking at players who have no chance to stick with Jazz but I liked what I saw with Evans and Hayward and that was about it. Gaines is a nice player and could take Price's spot if he could make free throws but if he can't he will be back in d-league.

Whatever happened to Tadija Dragicevic? He was the one I was looking forward to seeing most.

louisiana jazz man

why put on weight? every one said he is too skinny look at durrant about the same and does preety good they will try to bulk him up slow him down and wont jump as high. sounds like they can fix him right up.

Re Louisiana:

Because Durrant, as skinny as he is, is listed as 230lbs and Prince is listed as 215lbs. He needs to put on weight, the kid makes AK (225lbs) look like the hulk.

It was a surprise to everyone this kid was even drafted. He has a great attitude. If he works hard he could be the Sap of the 2010 draft.. We have about two months before training camp opens. Time for some conditioning for ALL the players. That is the Key to the season. Lets go Evans..

Jeremy Evans is By far the Best leaper in the NBA. I was sitting courtside in Orlando when i seen him Out Jump 4 of the sixers players in the paint to Tap the ball in for the Jazz, the kid will be a great Help for the Jaz he is a Shot blocker and Rebounder he also plays some Good defense Aginst small forwards and power forwards he even took a charge playing the center. he will be great for the Jazz he can shot the ball pretty good as well. Great Job in orlando Jeremy evans Welcome to Salt lake

6'9" with 7'6" wingspan, amazing.....I can't imagine the trainer and nutritionist were not asked at his workout.....impossible to miss his frame...."can you put 25-30 pounds on this guy?". Could be a steal. Well worth the pick.

Captain L

I love to have players with alot of upside and I think Evans is that kind of a player.
Scout28, you said he shot the ball pretty good, when did you see him shoot? If he can become a good and consistent shooter, he will be a steal.
Looking forward to his development.

Definite potential, however the jazz do NOT need potential next season, they need production. Minus Booz and Korver, we're going to be hurting for actual production.

Next year(2010-2011)....I've just about written it off. The year after has some hope, though. Ante Tomic, hopefully, another good draft, a year for these young guys to develop, and hopefully some CAP space. I don't see how the Jazz can get substantially better in 2010-2011. 2011-2012 is good enough for me. Williams must have a very good team arround him by the end of 2011-2012 season.

If we lose Mathews we could make a deal with the T Wolves and pick up Al Jefferson, and sign Shannon Brown for MLE. We have to do something because this line up wont win a lot of games, let alone Playoff series.
PG=D-Will, R.Price,Gaines?

I will always cheer for my team, but I dont want to be the fan sitting in the stands mid season with a paper bag over my head with two eye holes, hiding my face in shame. Seriously, this roster makes me worry. Actually I wont pay to see this team. I will watch on TV and save my money just like the Millers are doing. SAVING MONEY. If the Jazz are rebuilding I hope they get some value for DWILL, because All stars need other All stars, and the Jazz dont have any one else that is even close to being an All star. And AK was an All Star 2003-2004 season after stockton and Malone were gone and the Jazz missed the Play offs that year.

Bill..is the wingspan seriously 7'6"? where'd you get that?
