We are getting gouged big time here in Utah right now! The rest of the country has lower prices than Utah and has for a while. Why? oh they say it's supply and demand. Yet when the rest of the county's prices go up ... our go with them... because we follow there prices because of supply and demand. But when the rest of the country drops ... we stay high.
And at Hill Air Force base - gas is typically a few cents cheaper than other places. While the Utah average is $2.88 gas on base is $2.62.
The truth of the matter is that these oil companies are thieves, liars, cheats and the lowest life of the rotten big business community we now have to deal with. Bought off politicans and anyone with the power to control them has given them the license they now have to absolutely rake every dime out of the pockets of citizens that they can. This is a dirty rotten crime and they are getting away with it. Who has ever heard of a business doing such anywhere without regulation and controls in place to stop just what we are experiencing-THEIVERY?
Funny, the price of wind energy from Spanish Fork and Milford are still the same -- haven't changed since they started. Wind energy is price stable and predictable. And yet, we have the "drill, baby, drill" crowd encouraging us to tap more oil to continue our yo-yo pricing existance with oil.
The fact that oil companies don't want to share their data for "competitive" purposes means that we are definitely being gouged. Competitive Purposes? That makes me laugh when that term is used from a monopolistic industry that is anything but competitive.
