Chaffetz can stand on his sanctimonious high horse, but he is an active player in the obstructionism of the Republicans to stop everything they can in order to gain power. They are NOT about anything but gaining power, even at the expense of the people. He is even deceptive when he says: "As a freshman, I have never yet seen an open rule that would allow anyone to amend a bill." As a freshman, he has not seen much of anything, and he certainly knows nothing about the GOP's control of the House. Even now GOP members are threatened with the loss of their committees if they deviate from the dictates of Boehner and the GOP leadership. Look at what the Republican leadership did to the very fine Rep. Chris Smith (R-NJ) when he persisted in ensuring that veterans received the benefits they deserved for fighting for the country. He was stripped of his committee Chairmanship. Chaffetz should look at his own house before throwing stones at others. What a hypocrite!

I like this Chaffetz guy. Keep the good fight going and don't let the lemmings on the left mock you into silence like they do with most conservative voices.
No Budget proposal after spending our childrens future. Curious, very curious?

arc

Jason Chaffetz has a great point. I am glad he is back in DC representing us and hope he does well in his re-election bid.

Brer Rabbit

If this is to change, only the voters in the Utah 2nd Congressional District have a say. Even then all they can do is take away one of Nancy Pelosi's and the democrat leadership votes in the House. Utah's 2nd District congressman stays on the fiscally responsible side of votes, but still votes 100% for the House leadership creating the problems discussed in Rep. Chaffetz' comments.

If Utah takes away one of Speaker Polosi's votes and each of the other 49 states take away one, this fiscal insanity could be addressed.
