Lons-berry was a stuttering, blubbering fool, and I hated him. But I hated him much less than I hate Beck!
Look, Lonsberry was not a bad guy most of the time, but his show was rarely entertaining to me. I think they will do better with Beck twice a day.
I don't know how much truth there is in Mr. Lonsberry's assertions that he was fired due to political influence. What concerns me is the apparent lack of any professional journalistic inquiry within the Salt Lake City market. If what Mr. Lonsberry claims is true, this should be a major story. Does Energy Solutions have that much power? Does Mike Lee have that much power? Or is this all sour grapes from an employee who failed to meet expectations? Particularly where it involves a candidate for a major political position, I would think journalists would want to investigate. If Mr. Lonsberry is creating a stir from nothing, he should be quieted. However, if he is correct, this story, independently verified, could change the political landscape of Utah for at least 6 years. WOn't one of you SLC journalists check it out -- beyond asking the radio station management???
Lonsberry quite possibly was the victim of his own ratings...heaven knows I had a hard time listening to him? Hey Lonsbery...can you take Doug Wrong with you? He is the most obnoxious of the two!
I really enjoyed Lonsberry's show and was honored to meet him a few times. I know of no other talk show host that knew Utah like he did. He is very missed and I wish him the best.
Personally, Beck twice a day is too much. Since Bob's departure, I have moved on to other stations. KNRS holds little for me now.
I liked Bob Lonsberry and his show. He did not worry about being politically correct on the issues in our state and the nation. He talked openly about the LDS Church and was a great defender of the faith. He will be missed by many in this valley.
Bob Lonsberry I am sure is a good person. But when channel surfing, every time I got to himI felt like I was still living in the 1930's. The guy had some very opinionated/political views about life that were extremely off base.
Frankly for that matter, Mr. Sarcasm himself Glenn Beck is not good news either. Whether its the looney far left or the self righteous sarcastic right media- they are both the same. They are dividers and are not trying to build America, but rather, tell everyone how wrong the other side is.
I would rather look at issues, learn about them and make up my own mind. Most of the time these media/tv guys just send us, how did Bob say, on a "boon-doggle."
It is sad to see Bob go, I really like him. His local commentary, In my opinion was unique and very well done. Now KNRS has no local show. We now get Glen Beck on the drive to and from work...a bit too much. Time to find another morning station.
Someone who lives in New York should not try to be a an expert on Utah.
While I disagreed with Bob on occasion, especially his take on teachers and public schools, I found him funny, truthful, and even inspiring.
He felt free to share not only his personal and family experiences with us, but he shared a strong testimony of Jesus Christ.
He made the KNRS moniker, "Family Values" talk radio truth-in-advertising.
I turned on the radio the other morning and when I heard Glen Beck, I thought it must be a holiday.
Good luck in your future endeavors.
We'll miss the Ned Flanders sound-alike.
Bob, keep it cool and "kopasetic" [sic]
It's good to hear an actual radio voice on KNRS between 4 and 7 PM!! Bob Lonsberry's screechy voice was so grating I couldn't stand listening to him!
At last. No more Elder Lonsberry. If I wanted to hear from yet another missionary, I'd answer the doorbell.
