I hope the studies will compare incidents of autism in states that do not have fluoridated water with states that do have it. I wish we could compare the incidents of autism in Utah before our water was fluoridated with the incidents now after several years of fluoridation. Studies in CA are associating fluoride and other heavy metals with autism. Fluoride is stored in the brain and as levels increase health problems begin to show up, such as headaches. Toxicity for infants is especially concerning with fluoridated water used to mix bottles of formula. Any more than 8 ounces per day becomes toxic for infants. Because it is difficult to prove a direct correlation to particular health issues, governments continue to mass medicate with fluoride even though the dental benefits of fluoride taken internally have since been disputed by many studies.
Spending money on the "estimated" this or that, spending money to find out the "cost" of autism, per child, spending money on political activism. Why not spend the money on the actual cause, provide the methods to prevent autism, and reverse the condition where possible? There is no money in cures, prevention, or solutions to problems, only the problem. There is a solution to the condition of Autism, but the research community, which controls funding, is not iterested!
Regarding fluoridation and autism, I hope that Mc will post the authors, title, date of publication of the peer-reviewed research article, and title of the scholarly journal in which that peer-reviewed research was published that associated autism with flouridation.
If the studies that Mc reviews to were not published in peer-reviewed scholarly journal then never mind.
And MrKnowitall, how do you expect money to be spent on "the actual cause" of autism if you won't tell us what it is? After all, you know it all, right?
