So out of all the players on the first and second all-state teams 6 are from alta and brighton that didn't even make it to the semi's. If they had played in Region 1 they may have come in as the 4th or 5th team. Oh, I forgot they are from SLC and the SLC papers don't seem to cover Weber county north. What about a team that wins 13 in a row and defensively shuts down the Darts except for one lucky shot that even their coach was a 1 in a 100 shot. One player on 1st team and one on 2nd for Fremont, that seems fair. Davis is a great team but so is Fremont.
Sorry missed the 3 alta and brighton players on the second team so that makes 9 or about 30% from two schools that lost to two schools that were shut out in the semi's.
Is it about the better players on winnig teams or the best 5A players?
How is all-state soccer chosen? They are all amazing players, and deserve that honor. but I have to wonder why not one Weber player was considered? syracuse got in on honorable mention and they came in after Weber. can anyone shed some light on how they are chosen?
So the players that helped a team win 13 straight through the year are not some of the best? If the best can't get them to the finals, are they the best or is it just all about them?
I would call Magraths Goal from Davis anything but lucky. That was one of the most legit Goals we've ever seen in a Championship game. That strike was a BULLET from the top of the 18 to the upper left corner. Fremonts Goalie gave it a nice effort but had zero chance of stopping that bullet. Davis was dominant this year! Clearly the Best team in 5A. They allowed 4 goals all year!"ARE U KIDDING ME!!" HECK..Davis scored 5 goals alone against Fremont in their first outing. When a school allows only 4 goals all year and scores 72 goals counting the playoffs..cmon! Stop this nonsense..just be happy with second place..it is still and honor and the best team won. 4 Goals all year...how is that possible? Talk about a WALL! Got Nothing but respect for Davis and their Heart they displayed all year.
