Lady Cougars would be more appropriate
Did I miss something? Does BYU have a men's softball team? If not, I'd assume any conversation about BYU softball would obviously refer to the "Lady Cougars".
This does beg the question, however; If BYU had a men's softball team, would they by refered to as the "Gentlemen Cougars"?
At any rate, let's just relax a bit (myself included) and give credit to the terrific effort and accomplishment of BYU softball.
