So what does it take to get a fair seed??
The Cougs played on Texas home field and now on UA's home field.
Tell me about intelligent life forms in the BCS.
Higher seeds generally get home field advantage in sports. Doubtful that the BCS football powers have anything to do with a practice that has been in sports for a very long time. The BCS is wrong but we need to focus our complaints on things they control, not on everything we don't like. Otherwise, we just make ourselves look petty.
Just be happy that you are there... Do Yners always complain or what?
Quit being a big baby and enjoy the competition.
Bummer....here I am in Tucson on vacation and need to be back home on Friday. I guess I will have to cheer in front of the TV as always when our Cougars are back in the hunt in all sports. The weather is just about perfect for the series which is good for any team. BY needs to know that yes, the kittens have a big tradition in softball with sucesses....but this year, they can be beat. They are NOT the favorite. So, don't think about that tradition, think about how good you are and that you will take them down. Go for the juggular in the first inning and that will make a big statement! My Dad (UA Grad) would, if he were alive) cheer for them and myself (BY Grad) will cheer for the Cougs. Go Cougs. Utes are slackers......again.
more whiners. Anyway, go Laday Cougars - have fun!
BYU has earned a good deal of respect in the NCAA over the past few years. The wins over Texas were the biggest in the program's history.
You earn your way into the upper echelons of the sport.
BYU will be able to host a regional again soon.
ESPN2 is listing a BYU/Arizona game at 7 p.m. on Friday evening.
Support your local Cougars!
Go Lady Cougs!! Beat the Wildcats!
We Cougar fans here in Oklahoma City are looking forward to hosting you at the CWS!
As a former BYU softball player I am really proud the team has finally made it to a Super-regional! Re: the BCS comment - The NCAA tournament is set up so the best team can win; the BCS has nothing to do with NCAA softball. The top 16 teams among the 64 in the tournament are seeded. Seedings are based on lots of things, including ranking, conference, and RPI. UA was ranked #4 nationally at the end of the season while BYU hovered between 25 and 30 all year. UA absolutely deserved a high seed. The top-seeded team in each Super-regional was awarded hosting privileges. UW won the whole thing last year without hosting a single game because they had no lights and couldn't host. The best find a way to win.
