What in the world is this???

A person with a concealed carry permit can legally "flash" his firearm or tell a threatening person that he or she is carrying a handgun (HB78).

I think that it is funny that Utah has a law that gives them the right to sue the federal government over federal land. Really? a state can do that? Sounds similar to southern states prior to the Civil War.

@Johnny Triumph: Without HB 78, a person would have to draw the concealed weapon and point it at someone who was threatening them with grave bodily harm.

This bill gives the option to de-escalate a bad situation, just by informing the threatening party that you are armed, before it escalates to a grave situation.

Sounds like a good option to have, but one that could have been interpreted as "brandishing", under the prior law.

@nellock4: Sounds like someone has never heard of the 10th Amendment. Without the ability to sue, what should a state do when the federal government tramples the state's rights?
