Jazz win 4-3.. ??? yeah right!!!
UPDATE: Little Tatum Fisher is 4 now, and her vision is back to 50%. Her cancer is in remission. Letting Fish go was one of the classiest moves by Jazz management (even though it cost Fisher $8 million), booing Fish in Game 3 was one of the tackiest moves by Jazz fans. Shame on them.
I lost all repect for Fisher when he threw his daughter under the bus just to get out of Utah. Tackiest move ever pulled by an NBA player. Booooo away Jazz fans.
Fish did not even want to play for Utah... What he did was awesome to get out of his contract... My hats off to you Fish, and I sure do hope his daughter is doing good now.
RE: bronsonlegrande
News flash: Derek Fisher plays for the Lakers. The Lakers are the enemy, therefore it is not tacky to boo him. I was a fan of his while he was with the Jazz. I respect what he did for his daughter(eight million is a lot to give up, even if you've earned that amount three times over). Having said that, HE PLAYS FOR THE LAKERS. He also flops more than a fish out of water. So please Jazz fans, go ahead and boo him.
bronsonlegrande
Dude, he played with the Jazz 3 years ago.
All fans pay to cheer and boo. Tacky is booing little league players.
Get off your soap box.
Utah fans don't have any class. Yelling out cancer at the game was out of line.
The unfortunate thing these sorts stories (including one which appeared today on Yahoo sports, and, as is typical, portrays Jazz fans as crass bums) seem to miss is that, despite Fisher's move to be closer to care for his daughter, she continued to receive care in New York.
Who's to say what his intentions were with the move, and, at this point, it's all quite irrelevant. While I can't at all condone the actions of some Jazz fans, the fact that many consider his actions disingenuous is understandable.
And it also makes me wonder: why can't somebody simply ask the question as to why he moved to LA to be closer to his daughter's care in New York? Whatever happened to investigative journalism?
If reporters are going to continue to cover this story, it seems it might at least be worth addressing the elephant in the room, rather than portraying Jazz fans as uniformly heartless and Fisher's actions as benevolent and selfless (perhaps these characterizations aren't so strong in this story, but are certainly prominent in the Yahoo sports story).
Exactly, we will boo anyone that leaves our team for another team regardless of the circumstances!!! That is why we are called fans, we want to root on our team and against any other team, especially the classless and cocky Lakers!
We will boo even louder when that person cheated out of their Jazz contract under the false basis of being closer to their doctor in New York and then move back to L.A. the city that is the farthest away NBA city to NY in the entire country! Yes, they might have specialists in LA, but they continue to see their doctor in NY and Utah is closer to NY and I am pretty sure airfare is not any cheaper from LA or that airfare cost was a problem!
BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
Boo I can't stand by fisher half artist half player. He hates JAzz that's why he bring his A game. I didn't see any game him played that well. If he didn't use daughter illness everything could be totally different. Well he gets what he deserve.
Some of these comments really bring out the ugly in people. I agree boo Fisher because he is on the other team, especially because it's the Lakers. However, don't be spiteful and hateful because he's part of this Laker winning machine. That's borderline psychotic to carry hatred after the game is over.
I want to congratulate all of the people who love to Boo fisher and make gestures to him about his daughter. Not only is it pretty classless. It is a good way to ignite a player not having a great series into a superstar. BRILLANT!
Once a Laker, always a Laker. That's why former Laker players are cheered when they play back in Los Angeles with their new teams. Fisher's unwelcome reception shows the opposite: Once a Jazz-er, once a Jazz-er. Ignorant.
