I am just an "average Joe". In 2006 we were sitting in box seats at a SL Buzz game, several rows above and to the left of the Miller family. Our daughter, Colleen, is Down's Syndrome. She cheers for everyone( and loudly, I might add ). Larry watched her intently for a couple innings. He was using a portable oxygen tank at the time.

He left for a period of time, reappearing with a baseball in hand and sat down next to Colleen. He then engaged her in casual banter for at least 5 minutes. He went down to the dugout( during the game ), and had the manager/coaches and players sign the ball....after which he presented it to Colleen.

What a warm, generous and thoughtful thing to do for a complete stranger.

A couple months later we came from St George for General Conference. On Saturday evening as I was going into Priesthood session, there was Larry, short sleeve shirt and tie waiting outside with the rest of us to get in. He recognized me immediately, and said hello to me by name. Amazing man!

Countless others have been touched similarly. We all miss him!

It will be just a peek into the life of one genuine real man, as no one can put Larry's life into one book let alone several---he was that huge while he was down to earth. If you ever met him you didn't forget him cause he never forgot you.

I look forward to reading the book to capture a glimpse of his magical life and how he looked at and loved Utah. Remarkable, just remarkable.

Larry Miller was a perfect example of what hard work and what the gift of having a vision can accomplish. Many thanks to Doug Robison for this poignant view of one of Utha's most iconic leaders. We all miss Larry and are greatful for his life and his willingness to give to our community and the great state of Utah.

LHM was a giant among men. The Miller Family has given so much to Utah and asked for so little in return. May LHM's legacy continue to live through this book. It should allow the general public to know LHM as most hardly knew what a gifted person he was. May the Miller Family have continued success in all the good work they may do.

I'm not from Utah, but this man really is so very inspiring. I look forward to reading the book. I know that he helped a lot of people.
