Bird Flu seems to be infecting the Nuggets. Go Jazz!
again: everyone is acting like the Series is over., All Denver basically has to really acheieve by theyr'e pperspective is winning game 6 here, otherwise it is hold serve.'
They may be down 3-1 but 2 of 3 are at home. We need to wrap this up Wednesday. One never knows Karl could make a magical appearance Wednesday.
I find something funny an weird watching this whole Nuggets coaching carnival, watching AND and boywonders sitting besides him. Makes me wonder still why Grigovich is not handling this.
I wonder if there is a power play with the coaches also.
If Denver goes out, If I was a Nuggets fan, Chris Anderson who has done little this year compared tom last and Kenyon MArtin would be the first to be 86ed and Nene moved to Power Forward.
They would never beat the Lakers without a center. I would likely next year have Lawson take over and keep Billups as a backup and a mentor.
Carter needs to go, they are an aging squad. Still they have pride, I have a feeling if they lose there will be changes...More than we will make
The DEN game plan is to isolate one on one with the Jazz to try to use their "superior players" to negate the Sloan system of "role players".
In theory it should work and DEN players should be better play ground players BUT Utah is playing defense well and defeating DEN.
The Defense by Mathews, CJ, DWill, Millsap and Fes is winning this series. Boozer and Korver are doing their part also.
In the differential stats so far, Utah is dead last in rebounding of all of the playoff teams. Rebounding and FTs are major weaknesses that have to be addressed soon.
I love how AD mentioned that Utah flops in order to win. I'm losing respect for the guy.
I was mostly kidding, when I said that Stern's fix was in, against the Nugs. But we sure got a lot of calls, last night: 4 offensive fouls against their best perimeter player must be some kind of record.
I will take it. I still want to see somebody deck Anthony. He is almost as annoying as Kobe.
I hate the flopping too, but every team does it, including Denver. Fact is, the player with the ball usually has free reign to bump as hard as he wants to move the defender, and unless the defender flops, the refs usually don't call offensive fouls, even when they're obvious to everyone else.
Todd is right. A lot of DEN fans called for a move to get a big in the reg season and they did not get it. KMart is expiring and will probably be gone. Bird has a new 5 year contract. His numbers are about the same but his blocks are not spectacular (like last year).
Lawson is the future of DEN and Billups is tired and that is a major reason DEN's offense is not running real well.
The fouls are even. It is bogus for DEN to claim the refs are unfair. DEN and Utah foul a lot.
Melo said it best. He does not believe in Xs and Os it was just time to fight. Well that is just the dumb type of basketball that Utah needs right now. The Sloan system is grinding up a dumb team that will not listen to it's coach and insists on playing one on one based on ego.
Melo gets his points but his TO's and poor shooting are killing DEN. However, the fans think he is a leader and Dantley is dumb.
Hopefully Billups is out of gas for one more game.
just spent some interesting time reading comments on the Denver Post's forum.
They were whining about the refs, and about individual players, and about the coach, and about team chemistry, and about the jazz flopping and holding.
I was amused until I realized that sounded like us at the beginning of the season.
Well, Adrian should know better than most--while he was with the Jazz, he was the floppin' specialist. It's true though, since Carl left with the severe cancer treatment, this team has not been even close to the same. Adrian can't handle it.
AD is a smart coach. He knows what needs to be done but he can't get the players to do it. Billups also seems to have lost control of this team. That is a primary reason why DEN is losing.
Melo is dictating the style of play and it is one on one. I can't really call him a volume shooter like AI since his FG% is above 50 most nights but his TOs are killing the team. He has become the new AI even though he scores a lot.
He is begging for one other player to also beat the Jazz one on one. That is his strategy for beating the Sloan system. Someone might get hot but one good player is not going to beat 5 and the rest of the team does not like getting blamed for Melo not running the game plan.
I also suspect that AD has tried more than one game plan and they have not worked. Partly due to lousy execution and partly because the Jazz have run thier plan very well.
DEN rotated the ball in the first game. That has gradually stopped in the last 2 games.
