Almost losing his starting quarterback was probably not something Coach Whittingham was expecting. Good thing it wasn't something more serious than a minor tweak in his throwing shoulder.

This team could be special. Very impressed with what I saw today. I'm not saying a bcs is guaranteed, but it wouldnt surprise me one bit.

go utes!

Ken

I'm with ya Chris B. 3rd times the charm - this time for the crown!

SportsFan

The Utes will definitely be in the hunt for a national championship this year. With TCU and BYU coming to RES, a MWC championship is a given.

sports fan

SportsFan up top, lets not get to carried away. the only game that matters is the game against pitt. lets win that one first.

WhoAmISir

Utah fans - way too early to talk BCS or even NC. Keep in mind that TCU and Boise State will be highly ranked going into the season. We have to take care of business with 1 of those teams and see if during the year someone doesn't take care of the other.
Remember 1 game at a time, let others talk about BCS and NC going into the season. 1 game, 1 win at a time.

Who Am I Sir - A Utah Man Am I

Magna Ute Fan

One game at a time Ute fans. With that said, we are not set up for a NC run this year. TCU or BSU may be. Let us not be like so many of our friends to the south who seem to talk NC and Heisman every year. This looks to be a great year for Utah Football!

COACH KILS

DID ANY OF YOU WATCH THIS GAME... WE HAVE THE TALENT AND ALL THE PIECES, I TRULLY BELIEVE WE'RE GOING AS FAR AS #7 TAKES US....

COACH KILS

Hey Coach Kils,

Still trying to figure out this whole posting comments thing? How far do you think the utes will go this year?

BluCoug

@SportsFan | 10:17 a.m.

LOL, just because TCU and BYU is coming to RES, is not a given to win the MWC. TCU will dominate the utes again this year. TCU will remember the 2008 game and seek and will avenge that loss.

Utes4Ever

And we will looking to avenge the 2009 loss. RES will be a hostile environment.

Utes4Ever

Has anyone else noticed that the number of BYU posters have dropped off the map now that they have to register under a unique name? Strange what they prospect of accountability will do to one who wants to post trash.

re: BluCoug

Noticed how you wanted to give BYU a shot at RES originally in your post, but ended up only mentioning TCU.

Can't blame you, especially with the events of Friday in the bubble.

RE: williary |

I noticed that as well. Even the most delusional Kewgar has to be laying low after what happened to Unga last week. Let’s see, a freshman QB and RB and TE. The WR position is below average and again looking at freshman’s to save the day. What about the offensive line? Paper thin and praying that the few average OL players come back from off season surgery.

If Kewgar fans would think rationally, they would pray that Bronko red shirts Heaps for next year. Whoever “wins” the QB position at BYU will have to deal with the physical and emotional abuse of leading a ridiculously unprepared offense into the lions den.

It’s going to get ugly 6-6 at best.

re: hedgehog

BYU will be playing a lot of young, inexperienced players to start the season, with a tough early season schedule -- Washington (and Jake Locker), @Florida State, and @Air Force -- but, the Cougars will be veterans by the time they face the Utes in RES.

The Cougars have a wealth of talented young players who will rise to the challege of replacing stellar players like Max Hall, Dennis Pitta, and Harvey Unga.

BYU has a history of reloading, rather than rebuilding.

Let's see? Forty four wins in four years? HaHaHa! Only a blind ignoramus would be confident of a win against the Cougars. MARK MY WORDS! Utes lose to Pit, TCU, and Cougars.

Big_Ben

worf,

did you ask your mom for permission to log in? better ask, you know you could get grounded!

Anyway, this article is about the utes and their red white game. bluecoug and work must have gotten lost looking for their articles about BYU.

Went to teh game on saturday and was very impressed. Lots of young playmakers and seasoned vets. Our offense should improve substantially this year. The defense also has a lot of playmakers. I anticipate it will take 2-3 games for teh new linebackers and secondary to get into the swing of things, but with a D-line like we have, where we literally go eight deep, and proven playmakers behind them, we should be pretty good this year.

Chris B

TDS - you will be lucky to be at .500 when the season is over. Meanwhile - we'll have an awfully long break from the time we beat you by 30 to the big game in January.

GO UTES

BCS 3!
