What amazing people! What an incredible story! Thank you!
What a great example these people are. Unconditional love, Utah could use more people like them.
Earl
You and your wife are good people and a great example to the rest of us! You've inspired me to do my part.
Roses- Thank you for your example of charity and sacrifice! You are doing a great work, and we're cheering you on.
Thank you for this inspiring story. Such a great example they are of being willing to do the hard things that just need to be done!
We learned when our kids were teenagers, that there is an unending supply of kids from various kinds of dysfunctional homes, that need a family and love.
Almost any family could take in one or two, as real family, and create much good for everyone in the situation.
Even better if it can be done without state bureaucrats involved.
Kudos to the Roses! This story made my day.
I don't agree, though, that fostering would be better without the State involved. It's crucial that foster kids be placed in homes that have been carefully evaluated and where the parents have received adequate training to handle some of the complex issues they'll face. I suspect Earl and Tif would agree with this, too.
We all need heroes - and the Roses are heroes to those kids. Well done!!
Earl and Tifiny Rose are the most amazing people, so full of kindness and love. What they have done for all of these children is so remarkable. They are all in a home so full of love. Thanks for your sweet example!
I have personally been to their house once when looking for a home and stood amazed at the order and calmness within. Earl and Tif and far better than good, they are angelic! The amount of selflessness, unconditional love, sacrifice and just "goodness" required to do what they do is nothing less than inspiring. Those are twelve very lucky children. You both truly make the world a much better place for all of us!
Thank you to the Roses for all they do for these very fortunate children. Thank you to all of you who have made comments recognizing the Roses' tremendous contribution to society, but most importantly for recognizing their part in changing the lives of these children and those who come for many generations after them.
Thank you both for caring enough to make a difference! You have saved those kids' lives. God bless you and your entire family!
For all of those wishing we just legalized the stuff, children are the ones that get tortured. I get sick and tired of the argument that it is "no ones business what I do in my home". Drugs make it someones business as neglect/abuse of children significantly increases. Take responsibility for those under your care.
Earl is part Movie Action Hero and part Father Knows Best. Tif is Mother Theresa. That's how I see it as one of their neighbors. Humble, selfless and caring. Lots for us to emulate.
What a wonderful article. The Roses are such examples as to what a great set of parents and people should be like. Such order in their home. Amazing. I would love it if Earl could come and do his presentation at my son's school and drive the message home.
I think it's great what this family is doing, but am I the only one wondering how a high school resource officer's salary can support such a large family and in such a nice home to boot?
Does it matter? Maybe they are not trying to keep up with the Jones'.
Lots of people are in homes that are surprising large for their income. It's difficult to figure a family's finances. And some weathly people live in small homes. Perhaps they sold/ bought at the right time? Or lived with a reasonable mortgage for at time and able to save a good downpayment to keep their mortgage in their recently purchased home affordable?
Kids who are fostered have their medical paid by the state, free lunches at school. The kids who are adopted would be under the families plan and all expenses. Fees to
adopt from foster care are reasonable and able to recoup through the adoption tax credit. Hand me downs. Does it matter? It would cost the state more and be detrimental to the children not to have a family.
It is people like the Rose's that make this world a better place. I am inspired by what you have done for these children. You are a wonderful example.
they are my aunt and uncle and I love them very much. They have always been kind, wonderful people and I used to spend time with them before they even had kids. They make me want to take in foster kids and or adopt to help those who cannot help themselves
