I will not vote for any incumbent this year, from the school board on up to Bennett. If they are currently sitting in a political office they need to go. This is the year to send a message to all politicians that Americans will no longer tolerate politics as usual. If they won't represent us and put America first then they will be gone!
We need term limits to get career politicians out of the system. BB has been in long enough. Retire with dignity.
Doesn't anyone realize that electing more Republicans in Utah continues the reign of the corrupt super-majority?
At our precinct caucus meeting, the only state candidates who emphatically stated they would not vote for Bennett were elected. Bennett will soon follow in Cannon's footsteps.
we need to clean house from the federal level right down to the state level. The good ol boy network has go to go
Bennett needs to go and all my friends feel the same way. In fact, all senators & congress people need to go if they have been there more than 2 terms! The message needs to be sent that the people do not want entrenched politicians. Washington corrupts and/or instill arrogance looking down at the voters. Bye Bye Bob.
In our precinct caucus, it was overwhelming for Bennett. You can't make a true determination from Utah County about anything Republican as they are the exception rather than the rule.
Open your eyes wide, open your eyes. Way out in left fireld
Bennett & Matheson: R.I.P. Time to clean house!
To "open your eyes" I'd suggest that you follow your own advice. The corrupt "super majority" seems be in the other party. In my caucus Mr Bennett didn't fare very well.
To: OPEN YOUR EYES. Republicans are the only ones corrupt? You haven;t been following California politics have you? Where the Democrats are corrupt! Or Illinois where the Democrats are corrupt! Seems to me there is plenty of corrupt politicians to go to the moon and back!
Nothing would do more to better our government than term limits.
I would like to be added to the list of those who will not vote for an incumbent again. Well, never is a long time but I would really have to dislike the alternate choice. and I am proud to say that I am not a Republican anymore. Just read all the party platforms. I think you will realize that you are not a Republican or a Democrat either if you are truly an American. I'm not promoting any particular party but if we had a third viable party so no one party had a majority it would be great.
Bennett did not have a good night. The other candidates are doing a great job, but Bridgewater has won my support. He's personally called me and invited me to several events. I like that he doesn't talk down to me but listens and answers questions. I like business guys.
Bennett has not been and effective public servant for a long time. He only stays in office for his own personal gain and ego. It is time for some one new who can serve Utah and the nation.
I was elected as a state delegate and while I was not elected last year, I have been a delegate many times in the past. Our caucus was clearly anti-Bennett and any delegate who openly supported Bennett was roundly defeated. While I think some of this anger is justified, it is not a good strategy to replace an incumbent just because he has been there too long. Delegates need to be deliberate, careful, and rational. How many times in history has one leader been replaced by a much worse leader? While I am no big fan of Bennett, I think a lot of this anti-incumbent anger is misplaced.
The thing that really upsets me is that I had decided a couple years ago before all of this craziness, that Bob Bennett was too liberal for my taste...now he is pretending to be very conservative. Be real! Be what you really are, not just echo whatever the current political mood is. I I have seen very little fight in him the last 6 six years...the fight is now to go back to the Constitution and get the people out of there who only pretend to fight for us and America.
I'm not pleased with Bennett, but I'm not thrilled with most of the opportunists who are ganging up on him.
This is a choice between bad and worse.
Our caucus elected the person who solidly supported Bennett.
I hope people wake up and clean out the Legislature too!
